Big Shot, Challenges, Just Add Ink

JAI #32 Just Add Fabric

Whoo hoo – what a cool Challenge.  Fabric, Fabric, where do I get some of that from?

Hmmmm – Ok after cutting up a few items in the “Getting Rid Of” bag – here is my Card.

Love this little lay-out using the All in the Family Stamp set and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet that I made with the Big Shot.

Big Shot, Card Classes

Fathers Day Class

With Father’s Day fast approaching – I thought I would do a Fathers Day / Man Cards Class.

The first card is the one I did a few weeks ago for a Just Add Ink Challenge.

At the same time I also did this one too…..

The second card we are doing in the Class is this one:

I was really happy with how this turned out.  I had been thinking about it for a while and where-ever I have been lately I have seen camouflage things, fabric, clothes, drink bottle covers etc.

Anyway – I decided to give it a go.  I used the leaves from the Bird Punch and stuck them onto some paper.  Then I glittered the gaps with Chocolate Chip and Old Olive glitter.  Then over the top I used the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Big Shot Dies to write the word DAD.

Colours are Mellow Moss, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke.

Challenges, Just Add Ink

JAI #31 Colour Challenge

It’s a Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink this week – great colours too.

I was not sure what I was going to do with this….. I ended up taking inspiration from three places.

  • The colours
  • A card I received from my USA Secret Sister (for the lay out)
  • Thirdly…. the New Catalogue pre-view goodies I received.

Once I combined them all I came up with this.

The Stamp Set I have used in Vintage Vogue.  And I have used the Fancy Flower (extra-large) punch – which is coming to a Catalogue near you soon!

So – go check out the challenge and have a go.  The Just Add Ink Design Team girls have made some beautiful cards and projects this week – check them out.

3D, Card Classes, Gifts

Tea Light Class

Hey – great class last night.  I had so much fun putting the projects together beforehand – and then enjoyed seeing the ladies do them too.  The class was based around decorating or making little Tea light holders.

The first project we did involved decorating some wax tea lights and putting them in a little box.  This is a great little project and makes a fantastic little gift.

I have used the Circle Circus Stamp Set with Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  The little box is made with Old Olive card and decorated with the Haiku DSP.

I’ve done a few of these in the past – and put them in different shaped boxes or done them with 3 x Tea lights and a mini hand cream.  Great gift idea!!

For our second project – I let the ladies GO WILD!!  So we ended up with a selection of Tea Light Holders.  Here are the ones I did.

I know they are slightly different……but that is cause I was messing round with the design a bit.  Anyway – I have used Inspired by Nature in Night of Navy with Navy Ribbon and Cardstock.

Here are the ladies fabulous Tea Light Holders.

Challenges

Helping Hudson Colour Challenge

The fourth Challenge at Helping Hudson is a colour challenge.  And they are all colours that I really like too…….
So while the ladies were here on Wednesday night – I stamped too.  This is what I did.

I used the Top Note Die and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder with the Big Shot Machine which was loads of fun.

Challenges, Just Add Ink

Just Add Wheels

We are doing a Special Challenge this week at Just Add Ink – to correspond with the Helping Hudson Fundraiser.  Our challenge is to Just Add Wheels…..so this could be Stamped images, punches or Stampin-Around wheels.  Basically if it’s circular it fits the criteria!

Here is the card I did for the Challenge.

I’ve used the Wild About You and Short and Sweet Stamp Sets.  The colours are Brilliant Blue, So Saffron, Real Red, Glorious Green and Whisper White.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have made some amazing cards and projects for this challenge – so go and check them out here.  And have a go at Just Add Wheels yourself too.

Helping Hudson Week 1 Challenges

Wow….what a day I have had…..I won’t tell you about it because to be honest it has been a disaster.  However……last night I stayed up far too late – because I wanted to make some cards for the Helping Hudson Challenges.  At least in my disaster of a day I can find something to do to help someone else – and that makes my day better too.

So here goes……I am posting all three of the challenges for this week in the one post – because I’m short on time, have visitors and have to leave for work in 1/2 an hour.

Number One – Sketch Challenge

This card is done with Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose & Rose Red. The Stamps are from Inspired by Nature.

Number Two – Colour Challenge

Again – I have used the Inspired by Nature set.  And I have used the Vintage Vogue Wheel and Short and Sweet Stamp Set.

Number Three – Rock n Roll

The Sentiment on this card comes from Trendy Trees.  The flowers & circles are from the Good Friend Set.  Kiwi Kiss, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise are the Colours I used.

So there you go.  I’ve been thinking about Hudson and his family alot and I’m happy that I’ve been able to help – even if it’s only a little.

Helping Hudson – A Wheely Great Cause!

It’s true when they say that a little goes a long way, and I’m here to tell you about how a simple purchase of some fun -filled paper craft tutorials can give freedom to a little boy!

This is Hudson.  HudsonCute huh?

Hudson is 2 ½ and I know you can’t tell from this pic – but he has had a tough little life!
Before he was born the Doctors realised his brain had not formed properly and as a newborn they discovered he was legally blind.

Recently Hudson has been diagnosed with both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.  His mobility has been severely hindered by his disabilities; however his family and friends wish nothing more than to give him the chance to get moving on his own.

Hudson needs a Kid Walker which is a special Wheelchair/Walker.  It will help get him mobile, allow him to play with his brother and sister, interact with other children and give him independence in his day to day life!

Hudson’s Mum is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  She mentioned to a group of fellow Demonstrators that Hudson needed a Kid Walker and they all grabbed their stamps and ink pads and took up the challenge to raise the money for Hudson.

To help Hudson, there is a HUGE online stamping event taking place, called Helping Hudson -A Wheely Great Cause! The organisers have worked really hard, securing support, tutorials and donations to get this event underway. There is stamping fun for you to join in – there will be lots to see, do and learn from 1st August right through until the 22nd August. You’ll find it at http://helpinghudson.blogspot.com

On the blog you’ll find out all about Hudson, his family and his cause! But, more importantly, you can DO SOMETHING TO HELP HUDSON, at the same time as helping yourself learn how to make some great new paper craft projects.

How? By purchasing bundles of tutorials kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators the world over. Each bundle has 10 fun-filled tutorials for just AU$10! And there are six themes to choose from: Bags & Boxes, Christmas, Kids’ Birthdays, Projects for Men & Boys, Punch Art & Scrapbooking. There’s even a FREE bonus bundle if you buy four or more. WOW how exciting! All proceeds go directly to help Hudson.

The Helping Hudson Crew will also be posting some awesome challenges throughout the three weeks. For a small donation you can join in and be in the running for some FANTASTIC Stampin’Up! Prize packs, kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! Australia (Aussie participants only, sorry) Also keep your eyes peeled for challenge at Just Add Ink

And we would love you to help spread the word too. Check out the ‘Spreading The Word’ page at the site for all you need to know to get the word out to as many people as you can.

Brayering, Card Classes

Brayer Class

If you have looked at my Blog lately – you’d know that I have recently learnt the Brayering Technique and love it.  After heaps of practice I decided it was time to share it with my ladies.   So tonight – we are doing a Brayer Class.

This is the first Card we are going to do.

I have used Lovely as a Tree stamp set and Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy inks.

Here is our second card:

I really love how this turned out.  It’s the Baroque Motifs stamp set.  The ink colours are Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red.

I have stamped some card with the Baroque Motifs Swirly stamp and then punched the Butterflies out.  The little flowers are Flower Fusion Felt Flowers.
