Just Add Ink Challenge # 479 – Colour Combo!

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is a Colour Challenge.  The colours are soft and cool – I thought they were kind of beachy.  But I used them for a floral card.

I put some silver faceted gems in the centre of the flowers.  I really love how the shine.  What do you think?

Head on over to Just Add Ink and play along with this Challenge too.

Just Add Ink # 475 – Just Add Food!

Just Add Food, now here’s a fun Challenge!

I thought it may have meant “Have a few little treaties” while you are crafting and then I could show you a pic of a few empty lollie wrappers!!

Or perhaps I could package up some goodies?    And I found that I didn’t really have any foodie type stamps.

I then started thinking about pretty boxes that might be good for a “teenagers” gift – and this is what I came up with…… A Donut Box!!

I decided to make a card to go with it.

I really looking forward to see what everyone comes up with for their “Food” inspired projects this week.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 465 – Add the Season

Image may contain: text

When I arrived in Rotterdam in March, it was the end of Winter and there were no leaves on the trees.   During the following months, the trees and flowers bloomed.  It was so lovely to see all the bright leaves.

One of my adventures was going to see the Tulip fields.  I hired a bike and spent the day discovering the Haarlem area.  It was a fabulous day – despite my sore bottom after about 5-6 hours on the bike.

Now I am back in Australia, and most of the leaves have gone from the trees.  But I noticed there are a few leaves that are clinging to their trees and they are many different colour’s.   So my card this week is based on Autumn leaves.

No photo description available.

Also – can you see the leaves in the background of my photo?  I actually took this pic at the Train Station (where I park my car on week days).  There are piles and piles of leaves around – so I decided they would make a good background for this card.

For this card I used stamps from two Stamp sets:  Floral Essence and Rooted in Nature.  The DSP is Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

It would be great if you could join us for this Season Challenge.  Here is the link to Just Add Ink where you can join the Challenge and also see many other Just Add the Season projects from the Design Team.

I made this for a friend who is turning 50 soon.  She loves the colour green so I used a number of different shades of green on my card.  I used a glitter embossing paste to add some detail to the background.Head to Just Add Ink to join this challenge and/or to check out what the Design Team have put together to provide you with inspiration.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 439 – Gift Box

Image may contain: text

Can you believe it!!   This is the last Just Add Ink Challenge for 2018!
Just Add a Gift Box is so appropriate for this time of year – and a perfect one for me to participate in because I had a couple of little gifts that I wanted to pack up for some friends.
Here is the first one………..

No automatic alt text available.

I’ve had this tree die for a couple of years now and not really used it much.  For this Gift pouch the size of the die tree worked well.

Below are a couple of the other pouches that I made.

Inside are some little fabric folded shopping bags – which is something we all need to keep in our handbags these days.

These pouches were quick and fun to make and a perfect way to dress up a little gift.

This Just Add A Gift Box challenge runs for TWO WEEKS and closing on January 2nd.   Go to Just Add Ink to enter or check out all the other gift box ideas.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Just Add Ink Challenge # 429 – Vellum!

Image may contain: text

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is all about adding Vellum.  Vellum is a great addition to cards and 3D projects.  On my card today, I have die cut some leaves as an embellishment.   My card is a CASE of a card from the current Stampin Up Annual Catalogue 2018-2019…..see page 9.

And below…..see my take on the card.     Die cutting shapes with Vellum is a fun way to add it to your projects.

Looking back – I have used Vellum in my Just Add Ink Challenges for some time.

Below is the card I made in Just Add Ink Challenge # 2!   I used the Vellum to make some flower petals…..

The challenge was to Just Add Hearts – so my idea was to have flower petals look like they were flying off and making Heart shapes.

You can find one of my popular Vellum projects in JAI # 125 – Just Add Winter where I made some Vellum Luminaries.   I also did this in a class Tea Light Class

Follow this link to the Vellum Luminaries – Tutorial

And below are a couple more examples of using Vellum…… Velum flowers and Butterflies.

I used the Perennial Birthday Stamp set – which you may have worked out is my fav Stamp set at the moment.  I am loving creating pretty floral cards with it.

Just Add Ink # 424…. Just Add Texture!!

Image may contain: text

I love Challenges like this – because you can add texture in so many different ways.   This time I used embossing paste with a stencil.  I added some silver paint to is to colour it.   I also added texture with the ribbon that I frayed, then stuck along the edge.

I often ask my husband what he thinks of some cards….and he always says…..it’s not manly if it has ribbon on it.  so fraying the ribbon is really me trying to make it not look like ribbon!  LOL!

I also really like how the cogs turned out.   I used a bit of foil card to die cut them out.

Follow this link to Just Add Ink to share your textured creation with us.  And check out all the other wonderful Design Team creations too.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 416…….Sketch Challenge!

Image may contain: text

Here’s the Just Add Ink Challenge this week # 416 Sketch as suggested by Patrice.

Sometimes, people ask me, “Where do you get your ideas from”?

Well….. Sketches are a great start for any card, so the layout of my card this week was where I started.  For the rest of it – my inspiration came from a beautiful dress I saw an actress wearing (on TV).

It was stunning, far more sparkly and shimmery than what I have created – and it was more of an ice blue colour too.  However, it gave me the idea to colour the die cut paper like this.   The die cut paper is so delicate and pretty.  Being White on one side and Vanilla on the other, means you can team is with any colour combo.  Or even colour it, like I have here.
