Just Add Ink # 651 – Inspiration Challenge

Just Add Ink have an Inspiration Challenge running this week. It’s pretty and has loads of different images and ideas that can be used in your projects this week.

When I looked at the pictures, the colours and heart shapes really grabbed me. I went straight to my stash of Fresh Freesia card stock. It’s such a pretty colour…..I realised that I must like the colour because I only had one sheet left!!

I used the flowers from the Beautifully Happy Stamp set. It is a lovely 2 step stamping set – it makes colouring the flowers (by stamping them) super fast and easy.

I finished the card off with an embossed background and Fresh Freesia ribbon.

Just Add Ink #647 – Sketch Challenge!

I’ve been playing with 3D embossing lately. Trying to have a go at as many techniques as I possibly could – just to see what I could come up with.

This Sketch Challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to use one of the pieces I had made.

For this card I used a bold coloured card – Tahitian Tide and teamed it up with a gold foil.

After embossing the card stock, I rubbed it with a metallic gold wax….love this stuff! The smell of it is so nice! Hahaha!!

The wax really highlights the embossing as well as giving it a lovely sheen.

I flipped the sketch and added a gold foil sentiment.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 645 – No Stamping

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is Just Add No Stamping!

I decided this Challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a fancy fold card.

I made an X Shaped Aperture Card, that I had seen online – made by Donna Rawhouser of Iced Images.

I used a filagree type die (that I found in my stash), a sentiment die and the Daisy Punch. I adjusted the measurements slightly too, so that the card fits into a Standard envelope.

I made another one using the New Horizons products as well.

These were fun to make and a great way to showcase your papers, dies and embellishments.

Just Add Ink # 639 – Colour Combo

I have had a fun time crafting this week.

I started by attending a Team Stamping day where we made several great projects and cards. We had a great time catching up, chattering and grazing too.

Since then I have spent a bit of time making Shaker cards. So I decided to put together a Shaker card for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge.

The Challenge this week is a Colour Challenge. The colours are all current In-colours, they are bright and bold.

I teamed the colours up with the Pierced Blooms dies for my Shaker card. This card uses a Cellophane bag for the Shaker – so it was fairly quick to put together.

Here is another Shaker in this style that I made this week using the Love Cats Stamp Set – such a sweet set!

And here’s another cute little Love Cats Shaker card.

So perhaps you want to try a Shaker Card this week? Or perhaps you just want to play with the colours and join the Just Add Ink Challenge?

Just Add Ink # 629 – Wings!

As soon as I saw this Just Add Ink Challenge I knew exactly what I was going to put on my card.

Earlier this year, my sister and I went crafty shopping and then spent several days crafting.

Here we are in the craft shop……can you tell my sister is really excited!

Funny thing is – even Dad came home with a bag of Crafty goodies!

One of the crafty items Nadine brought home was a delightful little Fairy die. I cut a few Fairies and have had them in my pile of ‘cut outs’ till now.

Here is the card I made:

I borrowed this layout and the colours from Page 54 of the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue.

I used Fresh Freesia card stock and Ribbon. Such a pretty colours.

Just Add Ink # 624 – Diorama!

It’s time for the next Just Add Ink Challenge – and this is a fun one!

Just Add a Diorama Card.

I made a 2-layer diorama card, using a similar blended background to my last Just Add Ink card. It’s a Holiday theme with the little caravan die.

Just Add Ink # 616 – Sketch Challenge

Just Add Ink have a Sketch Challenge this week. Having a sketch is a great way to start a card. The sketch is your guide but you can flip it, turn it or even reverse it to make it suit your needs.

I made a couple of cards with this Sketch in mind.

For my first card, I masked off a circle and the used the Blending Brushes to make a Sunburst. The stamps and dies are from the Sending Smiles Bundle.

For my second card I used the Tulip Fields stamp set and dies. (retired)

Just Add Ink # 614 – Under the Sea

When I saw this Challenge come up I instantly knew what I was going to make. I had actually been thinking about it for a while – even before the Challenge.

I made a milestone Birthday Card for my BIL Rob. He turned the Big 5-0 recently. Rob has a wonderful saltwater Fish Tank that has a great display of Coral, Urchins and colourful fish. Whenever, we visit I spend ages looking at the creatures inside. I especially love the Clown Fish.

Here is the card I made for Rob.

Bron’s 60th Birthday Blog Hop # 4

CASEing the Catty, a Page in the Sixties

Today I am joining Bron Eastley’s 60th Birthday Celebration Blog Hop. We’re a group of stamping friends that are celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes!  This is the forth Hop and the theme for our projects today is – CASEing the Catty, a Page in the Sixties.

CASEing from the Catty is such a great way to start a card or layout. I often tell crafters that the Catalogue is not just a Catalogue – but a source of inspiration and ideas.

I myself, often use the Catalogue when looking for Colour combinations, Embellishment ideas or layouts.

For this Blog Hop I have put together 3 cards.

From Page 61 I CASE’d this card.

Here is my version:

I used the Hues of Happiness DSP and the In the Moment Stamp Set (Ohh love that Stamp set).

The next two cards really pushed the boundaries of my comfort zone because they both feature bright and bold colours.

On page 62 you will find this packaging idea that I used for inspiration for my next card.

Here is my version:

I used Parakeet Party card as the base, Hues of Happiness DSP with the Plentiful Plants Stamp Set. Then finished it with the Tahitian Tide Metalic Woven Ribbon and Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots.

Page 65 features this mini card. I used both the layout and the colours to make a card.

Here is my card

I used the new Splendid Thoughts Stamp set and Splendid Stems dies – that just happen to be on Page 65 of the new Mini Catalogue (July-December 2022).

This was really fun! I think I will go off and CASE a few more cards from the 60’s pages. While I am doing that – you can head off to the next Crafter in Bron’s Blog Hop. Next up is Cathy Proctor. Click the link below to visit Cathy’s Blog.

Just Add Ink # 607 – Choose Two!!

Hi ya,

I decided to play along with the Just Add Ink Challenge this week. I put a fun card together that I am going to send to one of my Friends.

To make this card – I choose some bold colours – Night of Navy, Mango Melody, Real Red and Crumb Cake. I then decided on the layout.

I used a stamp that I have had in my stash for a long long time. It’s perfect for this Challenge because it features both the Coffee Cup and Tea Cup, the Beans and the little Sugar cubes…..cute aye?

I am going to send this card to a friend of mine – she drinks tea and I drink coffee and we often get together to download the week we have both had.
