Social Stamping – Change

Image may contain: text

Hi Everyone,   it’s Social Stamping time again and the theme this week is “Change”

There definitely has been a lot of Changes over the past few months.  I’m sure you will agree, it has been a strange year so far.

  • I’ve stayed at home more
  • 16 weeks working from Home (with a few more to come)
  • Not seeing friends in person so much – but a lot of online contact
  • Zoom – took on a whole new meaning
  • My face to face Card Classes have moved Online – which has been fun!
    • Let’s just say, my technical knowledge and ability has been on a steep learning curve!
  • At work, Client and Shareholder Meetings have been Virtual and Online
    • I worked on one AGM where participants were in 4 different countries and 7 different time zones!
  • Home schooling was for everyone!  Parents LOVED it – not!
  • People are not so keen to greet each other physically now – elbow pumps are the thing!
  • Anytime anyone coughs or sneezes, they get the death stare from those around them

And I am sure there are many many other changes too.

For my card this week – I decided to make a card that changes.  I made a Shutter card using the Celebrate Sunflowers and Forever Greenery suites.

In the background, I used the Forever Greenery and Flowers for Every Season DSP.

This was a fun card to make – it kept me busy for quite a while.

So what changes have you seen or noticed through out this Covid / Isolation time?

Social Stamping – Out of the Box

Image may contain: text

Hi everyone – Happy Saturday.

Kelly has set the theme for this weeks Social Stamping Blog Host as “Out of the Box”

Some of the ladies participating this week were wondering what the theme meant – including me!  So it will be fun to see the all projects in the Blog Host.

I debated what the theme meant – could it be something in a box, something made out of a box, new stamps that arrived in a box or maybe a diorama?

While I was pondering what I was going to make, I received a Birthday Gift in the post (delayed by the Post) from my lovely sister.

With it was the most wonderful handmade card (she never fails to Wow and surprise me).   The card was perfect for this theme so after some discussion I decided to make my version of it.

Here it is;

IMG_1357

I used the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp set, Flowers for Every Season DSP, Misty Moonlight Ribbon and the retired Window Box dies.

This was such a fun project to put together and I can see that I will make more of them in future.IMG_1362

I could not finish this post without showing you the card Nadine sent me.   I love it!

Social Stamping – Thinking of You

Image may contain: text
Hi everyone,
The Social Stamping Blog Host project has been put together by my friend and fellow Stampin Up Demonstrator Kelly Kent.   Each week for the past few months, Kelly  has put together a group to talented crafters from around the world.  We have been sharing our cards and paper projects, while social distancing and experiencing isolation. It’s been a lot of fun.  I have really enjoyed being part of it – whilst also seeing what other paper craft lovers have made.

This weeks Social Stamping theme is, Thinking of you!

If you saw my last Blog post, you will know that I have had my Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set close at hand.
I have also been making Tri-fold cards……so put the two together and what do you have?
IMG_1344
This card was inspired by my friend Lotte.   Lotte lives in Rotterdam and I went stamping with her, when I was working over there last year.
IMG_1348
The glitter was Nadine’s idea…..we were craft via Skype this morning, when I made this card.
I must say – I managed to glitter everything in sight when doing this!

Did you see that I also cut the envelope down to fit the card?   Another of Nadine’s wonderful ideas.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 510 – Fancy Fold

JAI #510 name

This is a great Challenge – Fancy Folds.   I love Fancy Folds – there are so many interesting and different card types to create and I like trying new ideas.

For my card this week, I decided to make a Dutch Door card (or some people call it a Double Dutch Door).

I didn’t really know what a Dutch Door was, but after looking it up, I found out it’s what I call a Stable Door or Horse Door.

I used the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and Dies.  The DSP is  a new one too, called Flowers for Every Season.   It’s a 6 x 6″ pack filled with lovely bright floral papers.

I used a bit of Gold foil card to make the Sunflower shine.JAI #510

Funny how moving it to where I could stand it up , looks like the colours have changed, but it’s just the light.JAI # 510b

Social Stamping – Travel

Guess where I am?

I’m at home actually……but these pics were taken on at the beginning of June last year.   We were on the most wonderful European trip.  We had the best time ever – and have reflected on it a lot during the past few months.

Even though we travelled all over Europe, I used our time in Paris as inspiration for my Social Stamping Travel based card today.

Social Stamping is organised by Kelly Kent.   Kelly organised a Blog Host each week, to keep her Stamping and Papercraft friends connected and crafting during Covid-19 and lock down. I have been participating in Social Stamping with Kelly, since she started it in March.

The theme changes each week and Travel is the Theme this week.  I’m sure many of us have had our travel affected by Covid-19 over the past few months – whether that be in your local area, state or territory, nationally or even internationally.

For my card this week I used the Parisian dies, Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and a DSP from a few years ago.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 508 – Just Add ‘F’

508

Hello,  I have been crafting with some new stamps this week.   The Just Add Ink Challenge is Just Add F – perfect for a new Floral Stamp Set!

JAI # 508

The stamp set I have used is called Celebrate Sunflowers – and you can guarantee you that this is the first of many cards to come using this stamp set.
The set has a couple of Sunflowers in it and the one I have used here, is the smaller one.

My card was inspired by a card that I received from my friend Helen.   Helen’s card sits up on a shelf where I see it every day.  It’s so bright and cheerful.

Helen and I first met in Telford, UK last year when we attended On Stage. We discovered that not only do share the same love of paper craft but we both live in WA, Australia. Funny huh?

It would be great if you joined us for this Challenge too.

There are loads of ways to Just Add F to your projects.  Some ideas are: Floral, Flowers, Friends, Furry Friends or Ferns.

Social Stamping – Hearts

Image may contain: textHi ya, hope you have had a nice week?

I have, it was my Birthday this week, so I got spoilt with a few things, which was nice.   And also got a few sweet cards in the mail.

Hearts is the theme for Social Stamping this week.   I don’t use Hearts in my craft very often, but I thought I would give it a go.

The whole lock down thing is starting to ease – so this morning I was able to meet a friend for coffee at a local café in the Swan Valley.   We went to the Cottage Tea Rooms.   It’s a sweet old house converted into a café, with local arts and crafts for sale inside.   And would you believe they had loads of Heart elements on display.
Even the path outside had a Heart shaped crack in it!!!

I made a card using the new Flower for Every Season DSP on a Just Jade base.  IMG_1241

The Just Jade Twill ribbon is lovely and soft and has a nice shine to it too.

This week at work we Celebrated our CPU day (Computershare Day), which is a yearly Celebration.  This year they had a Talent Competition running and one of the categories was Arts and Craft.  So I decorated a Canvas for the Perth Office.

Social Stamping – Animals

Image may contain: textI’m playing along with Kelly’s Social Stamping Blog Host – the theme is Animals.

To start with I was thinking, I wonder why Kelly decided on this theme.  And the more I thought about it, the more I realised that our animals (pets) have been our constant companions during the lock down / isolation period.

In our house, we have 2 animal companions.  They are Honey and Silver…….Can you tell which is which?

They are good friends.IMG_2030

When I say they are our constant companions – one of them follows me round everywhere.  She sits with me when I work, she sits with me when I craft, tries to sit with me when I’m cooking, having a shower or even going to the loo!!  In fact she sits so close to me I can barely move my chair!IMG_1218

I wonder how they are going to go (Honey in particular) when I go back to work?

Today, while Honey and I were crafting, we made a couple of Animal cards.
For the first one, I used the first Stampin Up Stamp Set, that I ever brought.
Wild About You.  Although I don’t used this Stamp Set much any more, I still love it!

IMG_1220

During the week I received this lovely Shaker card. IMG_1193
I really loved it and so decided to make my own Shaker Card.

IMG_1224

The Flamingo stamp set is called Fabulous Flamingo – another retired but loved stamp set. IMG_1226

Today’s cards have been full of colour and fun.   I’m looking forward to getting them in the post to someone on Monday.

Meanwhile, I will be going to look at the other Social Stamping Blogs.   To go to the next Blog you can click the Next button below., which will take you to Narelle Simm’s  Blog.  You can also check out all the Blogs here.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 506 – Inspiration

No photo description available.

Well it’s time for the next Just Add Ink Challenge – which is an Inspiration Challenge.   For these Challenges, you can use the colours, shapes or a combination of the things you see to inspire your craft.

I used the colours in the pic to create a water colour background.   It’s quite abstract and bold.  I kept the rest of the card fairly simple and uncluttered.

Social Stamping – Sunshine

Hello,  here in WA (where I am) it’s a glorious sunny day today, with clear blue skies.   Just lovely!    The Social Stamping “Sunshine” Theme, fits today perfectly.

For my Sunshine card, I gathered together an array of Yellow papers and made a Sunburst panel.

IMG_1185 (2)

The sentiment I used comes from the Share Sunshine digital stamp set.  It’s a one-off PDF download that Stampin’ Up! has designed to raise money to support Covid-19 related charities.

It has HEAPS of fun sentiments (appropriate for our current situation) that can be used on cards or scrap book pages that you are creating.

Things like “Sending love & Paper Hugs” or “There’s No Place Like Home (for now) or the one I have used on my card today….. Sending joy and sunshine, not germs.

You can get your version here:
https://covid19.stampinup.com/products/giving-back-intl-en

The PDF is $12 US dollars which is converted into your local currency.  When purchasing, make sure you select the correct language version for you!   I don’t receive any commission from the sale of this PDF all the money will go to the relevant charities
