Just Add Ink Challenge # 655 Music!

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is Just Add Music. I realised quite quickly that I did not have many Musical things in my Craft stash – but found some retire DSP with a music print on it.

I teamed the DSP with the Ready to Ride suite of products to make a Masculine Birthday card.

Just Add Ink # 604 – Case Yourself!

Hi ya, well here’s an interesting Challenge! Just Add a Case of Yourself!

So that means CASING a previous card that you have made. It could be from a previous JAI Challenge or perhaps a card you have created, that you love.

This Challenge made me go back an review a whole lot of Challenges and pick out a few of my favs, that I will share with you at the end of this post.

The card I chose to CASE was from Just Add Ink Challenge # 400 (18 March 2018). Such a pretty card with soft colours and a Bokeh background.

I decided this time to create a Bokeh background using really bold colours. The colours are Merry Merlot, Old Olive and Tranquil Tide. I then decorated the Card using the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set.

Follow this link to Just Add Ink to see and the CASEd Projects from the Design Team and join in on this Challenge.

Below you will find pics of a few of my other fav cards.

Just Add Ink # 598 – Colour Challenge!

This week at Just Add Ink, we are doing a Colour Challenge. Apparently I chose the colours for this challenge. Funny, cause I don’t remember doing that!

In about 10 days time, it’s my Dad’s Birthday and it just so happens, that he will be visiting me. So I decided to use the colours, get organised and make a card for him, before he arrives.

Dad is a keen gardener – a very good one in fact. He always has a very well stocked and organised shed of tools (both gardening tools and mechanical / building type tools). For his card, I have used the Home & Garden Stamp set and dies.

The background is made with a stencil and embossing paste, that I coloured with Misty Moonlight ink. It adds great texture to the card which you can kinda see with the rough edges it created.

These colours are perfect for man cards – but they are also just as perfect for a floral card – you can see more DT examples at Just Add Ink. Have a go and share your creations with us too.

Just Add Ink # 557 Inspiration Challenge

The Challenge this week at Just Add Ink is an Inspiration Challenge. The idea is to use this picture to inspire your crafting. There are so many things in this pic that you could pick up on…..the walls, the fireplace, the plants, the wooden elements and so much more.

The elements from the pic that I used were the white bricks, wood grain and plants. Here’s my card

The woodgrain DSP and Brick wall embossing folder that I used are now retired. I used several different die cuts and a couple of stamps too. I also decided to use different colours from black, browns and greens.

If you would like to have a go at this Challenge – go to Just Add Ink. There you will see other examples of projects for this challenge and also be able to share your project with us.

Social Stamping – Baby!

The theme for this month’s Social Stamping Blog Hop is ‘Baby’.   It’s a perfect theme for Spring – with baby animals in the paddocks, pretty seasonal flowers or perhaps even in a new family member!

For me, it’s a new family member……exciting aye?

This is Khalil, who arrived at the end of June.  He is my nieces son.  My Brothers Grandson.

I also have a friend who is expecting a little girl shortly, so I have made 2 versions of my card….

As you can see…..it’s a bit tongue in cheek – funny. I did stamp a Congratulations sentiments inside the cards. So what do you think – can I get away with them??

Here is my brother, Lloyd and his daughter, Gabrielle with Khalil, shortly after he was born.

As you can see, my brother is the coolest Unky and Grandpa, so I made him a card too.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 520 – Guys

At Just Add Ink this week the Challenge is Just Add Guys. For this challenge I decided I wanted to make a card with no sentiment on it. I used a retired stamp set that is called Need for Speed.

So maybe you can tell, that just as I was taking a photo, it started to rain….so I got a few drops of water on it…… 😦

If you follow this link, you can see all the other DT Guy cards – and then join this challenge, sharing your projects with us.

Kelly’s Blog Host Project

Image may contain: textHappy Saturday to all…..I hope you are keeping well?

With the world in various stages of social distancing, isolation or lockdown at the moment, the wonderful Kelly Kent has come up with a wonderful idea to share projects and bring joy to all.

Kelly has organised a blog host and I’m playing along.  That means we (those participating) all create a project and share at the same time.    Fun idea aye??

You can find a master list of Blogs on Kelly’s Blog.  So you can go through and have a look at what everyone has created.  And I will also endeavour to add a link to the next blog on the list at the bottom of this post….(after all the posts go live).

So What did I make??
Well in fact I’ve been quite busy in my craft room lately (one of the bonuses of social distance and almost isolation I guess).  So, I have a number of cards to share.

So here’s a few cards from my craft room:

Now, this is a Stamp set that I have been wanting to use for a while.  It’s called Capture the Good.  I mixed it up with my take of Bruno Bertucci’s scrap background.   I really like the bold colours.

This card layout was inspired by a card on Page 83 of the Annual Catalogue (the Giraffe one) and uses the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set.

Lastly, another Stamp Set I’ve been meaning to use…. Let it Ride!  The layout also started from the Sloth card on Page 83 of the Annual Catalogue.

All of these cards are already in the post – on their way to someone’s mail box, to spready joy, love and let them know I’m thinking of them.

If you are in lockdown or isolation, perhaps you can get crafting too.
A BIG big thank you to Kelly for Blog Hosting us, as we all adjust to life done differently.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Just Add Ink Challenge # 445 – Embossing.

Image may contain: text

Here’s a fun challenge – Just Add Embossing.   There are a few types of embossing you could add to your projects this week…….Dry embossing (using a Embossing Folder or Embossing by hand), Heat Embossing – so inking, sprinkling with powder and then heating is and Embossing paste (stenciled maybe).

I used Heat Embossing and Embossing Paste on my card.

I coloured the Embossing paste with a bit of Re-inker.  Then I used the brick stencil with the Embossing paste t make the bottom panel.

Next I Heat embossed the tools.  I actually used both silver and black embossing powder to get the two-tone tools.

I like how the tools look so shiny.

So join us for this Challenge – show us how you like to use Embossing on your projects.

Just Add Ink # 434 – Big Bold Sentiment!

Image may contain: text

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is to Add a BIG BOLD Sentiment……as you’ll see, I made this card a couple of Months ago now – and it fit’s this Challenge perfectly.

No automatic alt text available.

Adding Silver embossing to the letters really helps them to stand out – I mean, they are big enough anyway  but the embossing gives an extra shine.

In the back ground I coloured some embossing paste and using a stencil added a bit of texture to the back ground.

Join Just Add Ink in this challenge and show us your BIG BOLD sentiment projects.
