Kelly’s Blog Host Project

Image may contain: textHappy Saturday to all…..I hope you are keeping well?

With the world in various stages of social distancing, isolation or lockdown at the moment, the wonderful Kelly Kent has come up with a wonderful idea to share projects and bring joy to all.

Kelly has organised a blog host and I’m playing along.  That means we (those participating) all create a project and share at the same time.    Fun idea aye??

You can find a master list of Blogs on Kelly’s Blog.  So you can go through and have a look at what everyone has created.  And I will also endeavour to add a link to the next blog on the list at the bottom of this post….(after all the posts go live).

So What did I make??
Well in fact I’ve been quite busy in my craft room lately (one of the bonuses of social distance and almost isolation I guess).  So, I have a number of cards to share.

So here’s a few cards from my craft room:

Now, this is a Stamp set that I have been wanting to use for a while.  It’s called Capture the Good.  I mixed it up with my take of Bruno Bertucci’s scrap background.   I really like the bold colours.

This card layout was inspired by a card on Page 83 of the Annual Catalogue (the Giraffe one) and uses the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set.

Lastly, another Stamp Set I’ve been meaning to use…. Let it Ride!  The layout also started from the Sloth card on Page 83 of the Annual Catalogue.

All of these cards are already in the post – on their way to someone’s mail box, to spready joy, love and let them know I’m thinking of them.

If you are in lockdown or isolation, perhaps you can get crafting too.
A BIG big thank you to Kelly for Blog Hosting us, as we all adjust to life done differently.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Just Add Ink # 492 – Sketch Challenge.

Over the past week I have been playing with a new stamp set and making a card for this weeks Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge.  Image may contain: textThe Stamp Set I used is Beautiful Moments.  This set is Jacque Williams (NZ) Milliion $$ Sales Achiever Stamp Set.   It was Jacque that introduced me to Stampin Up and I have been waiting to see Jacque’s stamp set.  As soon as I saw these stamps I thought….now they remind me of Jacque.  They are lovely and are great for watercolouring and masking techniques.

Here’s my card:

JAI # 492

I added some Wink of Stella to the dress to give it a bit of sparkle.JAI # 492 a

I actually made a couple of versions of the card, with different ribbon options and slightly different colours too.IMG_0668aIMG_0656a

Here’s, another card I made this week that was inspired by the Just Add Ink Sketch.  I created the frame by masking off to Oval and stamping the spots.  I used a masking technique again, when stamping the sentiment.IMG_0667a

Just Add Ink # 490 – Just Add an Easel!

Just Add an Easel is the Challenge this week at Just Add Ink.

I decided to make an Easel card which is a fun fancy fold that is surprisingly easy to put together.  It has a built-in easel, which means the main artwork on the card stands up beautifully.  The easel part of the card then lies flat for mailing.

For this challenge I decided to step it up a bit by making a Quad Easel card.   This means that I made 4 easels and attached them to one card base.

JAI # 490 9

I used a variety of Stamp sets for this project.  Lovely Lilly Pad Stamps and Dies, So Happy Together, Fabulous Flamingo.

I also used a variety of colours.  The main ones are Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Melon Mambo.  I love the bright and boldness of them.

To join us for this Challenge follow this link to Just Add Ink.  While you are there, check out the rest of the Easel inspired cards from the Design Team.

Just Add Ink # 485…One Layer!

one layer

Well here’s a great Challenge for you…. Just Add One Layer…… that means no additional embellishments or layers of Card Stock….pretty much it’s one piece of card and some ink.

I thought this Challenge sounded pretty hard…..but I loved it!!  It was great to get back to ink and paper, letting the stamps and colour be the hero.

So I managed to stamp a few cards.  Here they are:

First up I used the Painted Poppies Stamp Set, teamed with the Swirly Frames stamps.

JAI # 485 (1)After I had stamped the circle, I masked it off and stamped the Poppy image.

For the second card I used the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set.  Love this set – perfect for one layer cards because the images are nicely shaded.  This could be stamped in any colour too.

My third card was using the Forever Blossoms Stamp set.  So pretty.  The sentiment is from Rooted in Nature.

And the last one is the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set.  It’s a really fun reversable set.

But Oh darn……after I stamped it I realised I had the card upside down!!   Oh man, don’tcha hate that!!!   IMG_0444
Yeah – so as you can see, I really had fun creating one layer cards with some new stamp sets.  Can you believe I did all these cards in a very short time, before work one morning!  I could have kept stamping for a while longer too.

So follow this like to Just Add Ink and share your One Layer projects with us.
