Social Stamping – Baby!

The theme for this month’s Social Stamping Blog Hop is ‘Baby’.   It’s a perfect theme for Spring – with baby animals in the paddocks, pretty seasonal flowers or perhaps even in a new family member!

For me, it’s a new family member……exciting aye?

This is Khalil, who arrived at the end of June.  He is my nieces son.  My Brothers Grandson.

I also have a friend who is expecting a little girl shortly, so I have made 2 versions of my card….

As you can see…..it’s a bit tongue in cheek – funny. I did stamp a Congratulations sentiments inside the cards. So what do you think – can I get away with them??

Here is my brother, Lloyd and his daughter, Gabrielle with Khalil, shortly after he was born.

As you can see, my brother is the coolest Unky and Grandpa, so I made him a card too.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 429 – Vellum!

Image may contain: text

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is all about adding Vellum.  Vellum is a great addition to cards and 3D projects.  On my card today, I have die cut some leaves as an embellishment.   My card is a CASE of a card from the current Stampin Up Annual Catalogue 2018-2019…..see page 9.

And below…..see my take on the card.     Die cutting shapes with Vellum is a fun way to add it to your projects.

No automatic alt text available.

Looking back – I have used Vellum in my Just Add Ink Challenges for some time.

Below is the card I made in Just Add Ink Challenge # 2!   I used the Vellum to make some flower petals…..

The challenge was to Just Add Hearts – so my idea was to have flower petals look like they were flying off and making Heart shapes.

You can find one of my popular Vellum projects in JAI # 125 – Just Add Winter where I made some Vellum Luminaries.   I also did this in a class Tea Light Class

Follow this link to the Vellum Luminaries – Tutorial

And below are a couple more examples of using Vellum…… Velum flowers and Butterflies.

So, spend some time playing with Vellum this week….and share your projects with us at Just Add Ink

Just Add Ink #134 – Just Add…Polka Dots!

Here’s a cool challenge for you …  Just Add…Polka Dots!

This week the Just Add Ink Team want you to make projects with Polka Dots on them…… there are so many ways this can be done.  Check out my Polka Dotted Card:

Believe it or not – my Polka Dots kinda happened and then I realised – Hey that’s Polka Dots.  Funny!!
I had looked through my Papers, Cards, Ribbons, Stamps etc and thought I don’t have any Polka Dots – and then I was putting together some Baby cards for future use and made this card.

To make the Polka Dot back ground, I brayered my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder with Baja Breeze Ink and then made a Big Shot Sandwich and ran it through the Big Shot……this meant that some of the ink transferred onto the card stock – but where the dots were there was no ink.  Great technique and a new way to use your embossing folders.

I have used the Baby Prints Stamp Set – which is just so perfect for Baby Cards and gifts.  And the ribbon is the Baja Breeze Seam Binding – which is really soft and beautiful.

Visit Just Add Ink to see the variety of ways the JAI Design Team did it.  There is such a range of inspiration for you…. I hope you have fun creating something for this challenge.
