Social Stamping – Out of the Box

Hi everyone – Happy Saturday.

Kelly has set the theme for this weeks Social Stamping Blog Host as “Out of the Box”

Some of the ladies participating this week were wondering what the theme meant – including me!  So it will be fun to see the all projects in the Blog Host.

I debated what the theme meant – could it be something in a box, something made out of a box, new stamps that arrived in a box or maybe a diorama?

While I was pondering what I was going to make, I received a Birthday Gift in the post (delayed by the Post) from my lovely sister.

With it was the most wonderful handmade card (she never fails to Wow and surprise me).   The card was perfect for this theme so after some discussion I decided to make my version of it.

Here it is;

I used the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp set, Flowers for Every Season DSP, Misty Moonlight Ribbon and the retired Window Box dies.

This was such a fun project to put together and I can see that I will make more of them in future.

I could not finish this post without showing you the card Nadine sent me.   I love it!

Just Add Ink # 500 – Add a Die Cut Word.

Hi Everyone – Happy Easter!!

The Just Add Ink team is celebrating a big milestone this week – we have reached our 500th challenge!

We decided that a great way to Celebrate this milestone is to do a Blog Hop.
The theme for the Blog Hop and Challenge was, suggested by Jan.

If you have been following the Hop so far, you would have just seen Narelle’s rose filled card Birthday card.

Recently, my sister and I have been doing a few Skype crafting sessions together.  The cards I put together for this Challenge were, were made during one of those crafting sessions.

So I said to my sister…….give me a colour combo, stamp set and number between 1 – 200.

Colour Combo = Pacific Point, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp Set = Botanical Blooms
Number = 142 (the page in the Catalogue I used for Inspiration)

Here is the card I made:
I added a bit of a Wink of Stella to the Die cut word, to give it a bit of sparkle.

I also made another card in the same colours.

Just Add Ink # 491..Inspiration Challenge

Wow, I feel like that week went really quickly – because here is the next Just Add Ink Challenge.  The Challenge is an Inspiration Challenge and it a very tropical picture.

Here is the card I made:

I used the Botanical Blooms Stamps and Dies for this card.  For some of the leave is used some leafy DSP and a die to cut them out.

I added a bit of glitter by using some glittery enamel dots and the beautiful new glossy Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon.

There are lots of other Tropical creations at Just Add Ink that the Design Team have put together, go check them out and then join us for this Challenge.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 442 – Sketch Challenge

This week there is a Special Birthday happening in our family, so I used the Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge as the start for a Special Birthday Card.

For this card, it was important to me to use the Black and White – as I see Black and White as National colours for NZ.  Our Sports Teams wear Black and White, we are from the Land of the Long White Cloud  and so I decided to incorporate Black and White into this card.    Next I decided on Tropical prettiness as this card is for a beautiful young lady.  Happy Birthday Ana!

Just Add Ink # 315 Sketch Challenge

We have a Sketch Challenge this week at Just Add Ink.  The sketch was put together by Tina.   Here it is….

Often, when  I am creating things for Just Add Ink Challenges, I am also making them for other things too…….friends birthdays, challenges that I am doing with my sister or as projects for card classes.  So this week I was thinking….how can I incorporate this Challenge and something else at the same time…….

Then last weekend I went out for a night of crafting with friends, where we all made a few boxes…..and this really inspired me to come up with this project…….which will also be used for a class project.

I used the sketch on the top of the box.

An inside……it’s a Secret box!

Cool huh?   And fun to make too.

Just Add Ink # 305 – Sketch Challenge

It’s Friday, 1st April!!  Far out – the year is going so fast!  Being Friday means it’s time for the next Just Add Ink Challenge….it’s a Sketch that has been suggested by Tina and I think it is going to be a very popular Challenge.  Here is the Sketch:

I used the Botanical Blooms Stamp set and Dies.  The DSP is called Botanical Gardens and also co-ordinates with the Stamps and Dies.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 300 – Sketch

Just Add Ink Challenge # 300 is here!   Yes that’s right – 300 Challenges, can you believe it?

I have not participated in all of them…….but but probably the majority of them.  Pretty awesome aye?

Being the 300th Challenge makes it kinda special – so we (the Design Team) have donated some prizes for the winner and honourable mentions of this Challenge.

Anyway….lets get onto the Challenge……..It’s a great sketch, designed by Kim.

Here is the card I made:

I used my new Botanical Blooms stamps and Dies on this card – but I decided to make something that had no flowers on it.  Even though the floral stamps in this set and matching dies are amazing – I just want to start with plain leaves.
