JAI # 57 – Colour Challenge

It’s colour challenge time at Just Add Ink…..you should see these colours….

Here is what I did with them…..

I just had so much fun playing with this Stamp Set and these little Owls.  They are really cute.  The stamp set is from the Sale-a-brations Catalogue – it’s called Punch Bunch.

Initially I could not decide what to do with the colours but once I got going I loved the result.  The Design Team have put together some fantastic cards and projects with these colours – you can check them out here.

Amanda has put a sketch together for you this week – it can be converted into a scrapbook page, or use it on a card, either way we are excited about seeing what you create for us this week at Just Add Ink!

Here is the Sketch……

I have been playing with the In-colours this week…..here is the card I made.
The colours I used are Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz.  The stamp set is a Sale-a-bration set called Sweet Summer.

Just Add Ink # 55 – Just Add LOVE!

Can you believe it’s pretty much the middle of February already??  Man – the year is moving fast.

The theme at Just Add Ink this week is LOVE – with February being the month of Valentines and everything.   Here is the project I put together……..

This idea has been playing around in my head for a while.  It first stemmed from a swap I received at the SU Perth Regionals last September from Zara Borrell.  Zara had made a cute Gift Card Holder in the shape of a corset.   And I thought it would make a great box – but I kinda did not know how it would go until one day when I had taken little Sarah to a certain fast food restaurant – and was mucking round with one of their boxes………and the rest they say is History!!

I really love how this has come out – I think it would make a great Valentines Gift, Wedding Trinket box or even I nice box to present to a Bridesmaid in.   I have used Blushing Bride – card stock, Ink and Ribbon.

It would be great to see a Just Add Love project from you too.  Join in here at Just Add Ink.  And check out the other Design Team Members entries too.

For this Challenge I decided to try a technique that I had not done before.  Acetate and Tissue.  Here is that card I came up with.

I’ve used the Eastern Blooms Stamp Set.

I also had a go at the Clean and Simple Sketch using these colours too…………..

The Sketch:

This is my card:

I used the Elegant Lines Big Shot Embossing Folder on each of the sections.

Go and check out the Design Team at Just Add Ink – they have put together some beautiful projects.  And don’t forget to give it a go too.

Aus-NZ Challenges, Big Shot, Challenges, Swaps

Aus-NZ Challenge – January

Since moving to Australia in 2008 – my sister, Nadine and I have been running a little Monthly Challenge between us….although last year we got a little side tracked and is kinda flopped a wee bit.  Also while living here I have done Card/Project Challenges with my friend Kim too.

This year we have decided to get together and do a monthly Challenge.  So what we have to do is make one thing (but two of them) and then give them to each other.  Therefore mine go to Kim & Nadine and I receive back one from each of them.

The January Challenge was to make Cards/projects using one colour (or one and a neutral really) so a Monochromatic project.  I have now received their cards.  We all used different colours….. here they are.

Nadine used Blue (my fav colour)…..She used the Beautiful Wings Big Shot Die that I sent her for her Birthday and my most used Stamp Set Baroque Motif.  The glitter on this card is stunning and Nadine has used tiny little beads on wire for the middle of the Butterflies and antenna.

Kim used Purple (another awesome colour)………..Butterflies were also the feature.  Kim used a great technique of including the large Butterfly in the Big Shot Embossing.  It’s really effective and I will have to give this a go.  Perhaps you can see what I mean by seeing the 2nd pic?  I love the Sentiment Kim has used too.

I did Green…………..and I too used the Big Shot to do some Embossing.  My inspiration for this card actually came from Joan Jeffery, who had made a great Mustard one for the Just Add Ink # 51 Challenge.  I loved the card Joan did so this is my version of it.

I was thinking of going with Butterflies too…..but changed my mind at the last-minute and used the Felt Flowers.
