Team Day – Mothers Day Theme

Last Weekend – I met up with the girls from A Klass Act for our monthly Team Day.  I’ve not managed to get to a Team Day for a while and really enjoyed my afternoon stamping and chatting.

We did a Mothers Day Shoe  Box Swap – which means that we all put together a project and then go round the room making up each others.  It’s a great way to try out new techniques, stamps or punches that I have not used before.  We made some lovely projects – here they are………..

Aus-NZ Challenge – March

Far out……..It’s the middle of April already!  So let me tell you about the March Aus-NZ Challenge that Nadine, Kim & I did.

We did a sketch Challenge.  Here are our Cards

Aus-NZ Challenge – February

The February Challenge with Kim and Nadine was to use the current In-colours which are Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz.  Again – we all came up with total different projects.  Here they are:

Kim’s one came with Yummy’s!  She put together a Sweet Treat Cup Flower Card.

It’s sunny, bright and IRL glittery too.  Kim has used all of the In-colours on this card and they look fantastic.  The inside of the card is also stamped with a pretty design around it too.

Nadine’s card was also Bright and vibrant.  She used the Brayering Technique and a mask.  Then did some silhouette stamping.

These colours look awesome together.

My project started as just a 3D box for each of them…..but then I decided that I need to use more colour – so I made some little cards to go inside the box which is bundled up in some Cellophane bags.

Here are the Boxes…..the Pink went to Nadine and the Green to Kim.

And these are the cards.  I used the SAB Stamp Set, Sweet Summer.

Aus-NZ Challenge – January

Since moving to Australia in 2008 – my sister, Nadine and I have been running a little Monthly Challenge between us….although last year we got a little side tracked and is kinda flopped a wee bit.  Also while living here I have done Card/Project Challenges with my friend Kim too.

This year we have decided to get together and do a monthly Challenge.  So what we have to do is make one thing (but two of them) and then give them to each other.  Therefore mine go to Kim & Nadine and I receive back one from each of them.

The January Challenge was to make Cards/projects using one colour (or one and a neutral really) so a Monochromatic project.  I have now received their cards.  We all used different colours….. here they are.

Nadine used Blue (my fav colour)…..She used the Beautiful Wings Big Shot Die that I sent her for her Birthday and my most used Stamp Set Baroque Motif.  The glitter on this card is stunning and Nadine has used tiny little beads on wire for the middle of the Butterflies and antenna.

Kim used Purple (another awesome colour)………..Butterflies were also the feature.  Kim used a great technique of including the large Butterfly in the Big Shot Embossing.  It’s really effective and I will have to give this a go.  Perhaps you can see what I mean by seeing the 2nd pic?  I love the Sentiment Kim has used too.

I did Green…………..and I too used the Big Shot to do some Embossing.  My inspiration for this card actually came from Joan Jeffery, who had made a great Mustard one for the Just Add Ink # 51 Challenge.  I loved the card Joan did so this is my version of it.

I was thinking of going with Butterflies too…..but changed my mind at the last-minute and used the Felt Flowers.

Just Add Ink Swap Hop

 Photobucket

Recently the Girls at Just Add Ink got together to participate in a Card Swap.  A Card Swap is where all participants make multiple copies of one card design and send them off to the rest of the group.  What you end up with is a copy of everyone’s cards, but you’ve only had to design one!   We decided on a theme which was to use products from the New 2010 – 2011 Stampin Up Catalogue.

After we had all received our cards we thought it would be a great idea to show them to you…..and what better way to do it – than a Blog Hop.

Here are a few details about our Swap Hop…… there are 14 stops on our  Hop (Just Add Ink and each of our 13 Design Team members), but the hop is set up in a loop so it doesn’t matter where you start. All you need to do to follow along is click the Swap Hop button at the end of each post and you’ll be taken to the next stop! The great part of that is that you can do the Swap Hop whenever you want.

So – here we go……

The card I put together also has a story – because not only did I make it for the Just Add Ink Card Swap but I also did it as a part of a Swap that I was doing with my sister Nadine.  And I sent it to a couple of Secret Sisters I have around the world too.  This is it……….

This one is the Just Add Ink Card Swap Version.  I have used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist Cards Stock.  The Stamps are Every Moment, Baroque Motifs and the Vintage Vogue Wheel.  The Ribbon is the 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso.

The Challenge I had with Nadine was to Create Cards using the layout of the Cards on Page 82 and 83 of the 2008-2009 Stampin Up Catalogue.  Here is the Version I sent Nadine.

So this came from one of the Cards on Page 82.  I used So Saffron and Hemp Twine on this one.

Leave me a comment to let me know what you think.  I hope you have fun hopping around the Just Add Ink girls blogs.  To continue on the Just Add Ink Swap Hop – Click on the button below to visit Tania.

SU Perth Regionals

I had a great day out today at the Stampin Up Perth Regionals.  It’s so nice to get together will like-minded friends to stamp and craft the day away.

We saw loads of wonderful demonstrations and new techniques and ideas.  We also saw and played with new stamping products and colours.  It was great.  And I have a few pic’s to show you from my day.
From L to R – Alison, Me, Janet, Kerry & Jenny.  These lovely girls are in my downline.

The Klass Act Girls.  This is the Team that I belong too.  With our wonderful Leader Sarah Klass in the front (in the brown shirt to my left).

I was wrapped to catch up with these ladies…..we are all part of the Just Add Ink Design Team.  L to R Sarah, Jodene, Amanda, Me & Jan.

So as you can tell from these pics that a big part of Stampin Up and being a Demonstrator is meeting lovely people and making great Friends.

So what about the Stamping?   Ohh there was heaps of that.  We did some great Make n Takes using some of the new products and colours that have just been released.  So here they are.
This is a cute little Love Note card.

This is a lovely 6 x 6 Scrapbook page – I have stamped mine but not put it together yet because I want to put a pic on it first.

A cute box – which I have Stamped but not put together – so it would be easier to bring home.

All of these projects use the Every Moment stamp set which is awesome for the Watercolouring and Masking techniques.

When we go to a Stampin Up meeting most of us make up some cards to swap with others while we are there.  It’s a great way to meet each other – see new products, techniques and colour used and it also gives you a good amount of samples for you to show off. I made a few swaps to share.
Here are all my Swaps on the table before I left.
This is the first one – I used the Big Shot to make the Background sheet.  The colours are Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi, River Rock.

This Brayered background is done in Baja Breeze and the Trees are stamped in Night of Navy.

This is another Brayered one…..which you might have seen before – cause I originally made it for a Just Add Ink Embossing Challenge in July.

The swaps I received were awesome.  And they will inspire me with great colour combos, techniques and layouts.  I’d like to say Thank you to all the ladies that swapped with me.  I received about 35 cards.  I have decided not to post them all today.  But will do another post soon showing you my swaps and other card ideas.

Secret Sister, Swaps

ESAD – SS

Ohhhh another box of Goodies has found its way to my door.  I’m so lucky.

Inside was this gorgeous collection of gifts.   My ESAD Secret Sister has made this awesome Necklace, Box, Card & Chocolate Cover using the Fifth Avenue Floral stamps and Urban Garden DSP.  Cool huh??

Don’t you just love this Necklace?  It’s so cool and colors that I love too.  Thank you very much SS.

Swaps

There is much excitement in my house!

Ohhhh arrggghhh!! There has been a buzz around here…..it all started when I heard something at the front door and went out to find a big box addressed to ME!!!
I picked it up and raced inside….I instandly knew it was from my Secret Sister – Julia Miller. Ohhh Ohhh I could not wait to get it open!!

The box was filled with lots of lovely hand-made goodies for me – and a HUGE bag of Chippies too. Thank you so much Julia. I love it all.
Here are some pics of them.
* A cute card
* A lovely little box of ribbons – it has a see through window in the front and is covered in hearts.
* A cool flower pot shaped packet with flower mix inside.
* A fabulous mini album – which I will have to CASE cause it is so neat.
* And a wonderful circular container with Hodge Podge inside.

Thank you Julia.
