Kids Cards

Party Party Party…..

This week, my littlie is turning 5!
I can’t believe it – where has the time gone?   So it’s time for us to celebrate.

I made some special invites for her – as we had a Princess / Pink themed party.

I was going to help her hand them out at school….however she firmly told me “I can manage by my own”!  So off she went with her invites to deliver them to her friends.
I did a few different colours.  Here they all are……

Here’s the Birthday Girl, after blowing out her candles – everyone was singing Happy Birthday.

How’s this for a cake?

We had a great party – and I think we are all quite tired now – well I know I am anyway!   Haa haa ha

Challenges, Just Add Ink

Just Add Ink # 61

Just Add Ink # 61 is pretty much just that……it’s called Just Add Stamps.  Which really is Just Add Ink.
The idea around this Challenge is to only used Ink, Stamps and Card……no embellishments or accessories  like Brads, Ribbons, Die Cuts, Punches etc.

For my card I got out a Stamp set that I have not Inked up in a while.  But one that I really love.  Fifth Avenue Floral.  It’s perfect for stamping a large area with a couple of colours and is very effective.  The shapes are lovely.

After stamping my Whisper White Panel I decided to cut if up a bit and separate the panels to create a window type effect – although I did not cut the panels the same size.

I used Certainly Celery, Night of Navy and Soft Suede.

Card Classes, Challenges

Mystery Packets Class

Last night we did a Mystery Packets Class – the ladies did not know what I was going to hit them with this week…..there were 2 x projects both different and both a Mystery!!

For the first one, I gave them each a pack of 4 pieces of card……. Certainly Celery, Tangerine Tango, Peach parfait and Very Vanilla.  They got 4 stamp sets to use which were Hello Again, Basic Phrases, Always and Inspired by Nature.  Some inks and punches.  It was up to each person to make up their own project.

I am very impressed with the projects they made.  Here they are……

Gayle's
Alison's
Michelle's
Virginia's

Isn’t it amazing how you can all be given the same materials and come up with projects that are all completely different.  Aren’t they great.

Our second project was another Mystery Packet…..but this time they got heaps of bits and pieces.  They could ask me for one item – such as a piece of Ribbon, a Brad, a punch or another piece of Card.  Here are they projects …….

Michelle
Alison
Virginia
Gayle

So you can see the projects that everyone came up with were all very different.  I really enjoyed seeing the projects being put together and the differences in what everyone did.  I hope you all enjoyed do this class that was quite different to how we normally do things.

3D, Card Classes, Gifts

Card Class – Easter Projects

Easter is not far away…..we have been eating Hot x Buns for quite a few weeks now….I love them.  I stash a few packs in the freezer, they are great in lunch boxes as well as a snack when visitors pop over.   Yummy!

And then there’s all the Chocolate of course!

Last week we did an Easter Projects class.  I decided to show the ladies a quick way to pack up a few eggs for a surprise treat.  We made a little pocket sort of shaped like a Chip Packet out of a square of card.

We used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive – the idea with to do colours like a carrot.  As in Easter Bunny……carrot……get it?

The Stamp Set is called Hello Again.  We also used these colours and Stamps to stamp on the Ribbon – but you can’t quite see it in these pics.

Our second project was a card……

This card was inspired by a lovely card I saw done by Marlene Peters (Canada).

The colours are Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso and Whisper White.    In this picture it is hard to see the glitter on the Egg Shape – I think the glitter really sets it off.

I also got an Easter surprize on my doorstep the other day….from my friend Kim.  Kim had sent me some yummy marshmallow eggs…that I have hidden because otherwise someone (not me) would have scoffed them already – so I snaffled them away and they don’t even know I have them…..hee hee hee.

Also in the pack was this ‘cute as’ little bunny box…..

It’s really cool how it folds at the ends – very clever.  You can’t see it in the pic – but it has a little round fluffy bunny tail too.  The goodies that were inside…..are gone!

Thank you Kim, that was a lovely surprise.  You are very clever at making these cute boxes.

Challenges, Just Add Ink

JAI # 60 Colour Combo

Delys has given us a beautiful colour combo to work with this week.  Here is the card I did……

I used Woodgrain for the background.  I punched the Fancy Flower out and then put some DSP behind it.  The Sentiment is from the SAB So Happy for You Stamp Set.

The DT have made such a wonderful variety of Cards to inspire you with some fancy folds and ribbon tricks – so check them out here.  And I have a go of this Colour Challenge.

Just Add Ink – Sketch Challenge # 59

It’s Sketch Challenge time at Just Add Ink this week. This is the Sketch……

And here is my Card……

These colours were my sisters idea.  While we were chatting at the beginning of the week, we were also carding……Nadine in NZ and me here in Perth.  We both completed some cards and chatted and decided on colours while talking to each other on the Web cam…..it was almost like being there.

So I asked her what colours shall I do….and she said – Wild Wus-a-bee and Concord crush.  I said you know it’s Wasabi aye?  She goes…… no I thought it was Wus-a-bee…..so we had a little giggle over that.

Anyway – as you can see, it inspired me to use these colours for this challenge.  I’ve used Inspired by Nature, Woodgrain and Basic Phrases.  This is the 3D technique which is very effective.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have made some fantastic Cards with this Sketch, so I urge you to go and have a look at them.  And don’t forget to have a go at this sketch yourself.

3D, Aus-NZ Challenges, Brayering, Card Classes, Challenges, Gifts, Swaps

Aus-NZ Challenge – February

The February Challenge with Kim and Nadine was to use the current In-colours which are Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz.  Again – we all came up with total different projects.  Here they are:

Kim’s one came with Yummy’s!  She put together a Sweet Treat Cup Flower Card.

It’s sunny, bright and IRL glittery too.  Kim has used all of the In-colours on this card and they look fantastic.  The inside of the card is also stamped with a pretty design around it too.

Nadine’s card was also Bright and vibrant.  She used the Brayering Technique and a mask.  Then did some silhouette stamping.

These colours look awesome together.

My project started as just a 3D box for each of them…..but then I decided that I need to use more colour – so I made some little cards to go inside the box which is bundled up in some Cellophane bags.

Here are the Boxes…..the Pink went to Nadine and the Green to Kim.

And these are the cards.  I used the SAB Stamp Set, Sweet Summer.

Card Classes

Weaving Class

Last Wednesday I ran a Weaving Class – for this class I decided to make cards by Weaving some card.  I really liked how these came out.

On the first card with did, we used some DSP to weave a background.

The DSP is called Love Letter.  The colours are Basic Black, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla.  The Stamp is from the Time Well Spent Stamp Set.

For our second card I decided to Stamp on the pieces of card and then weave them.  Here it is……

The colours are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White.  The stamp set is Inspired by Nature.

Challenges, Just Add Ink

Two Women that ROCK!! (JAI # 58)

Just over a year ago now the Just Add Ink Challenge Blog was launched by two amazing ladies – Amanda & Danielle.

Even before the site went live, Just Add Ink had become Amanda and Danielle’s baby.  They both put an enormous amount of time and effort into Just Add Ink.   I can only imagine how many hours they spent setting the Challenges, recruiting a Design Team, writing and posting on the Blog as well as participating in the Challenges too.  Amanda & Danielle nurtured Just Add Ink and all of us, that have been part of it.

But now it is time for them to cut the apron strings.

To honor Amanda and Danielle – we at Just Add Ink decided to dedicate this weeks Challenge to them.  So we have been busy CASING their work.

Here are the Cards I came up with…..along with the one’s I CASED.

We’d like you to Show Amanda & Danielle your interpretation of their work too – so go and check out the Challenge here on Just Add Ink

Just Add Ink has been left in the experienced hands of Delys and Bronwyn with the rest of the Design Team for support.  So make sure you continue to join us and Just Add Ink.

I know that Amanda and Danielle will miss us and be back to play along.  Thank you Amand and Danielle for the awesome site you have created.  You both ROCK man!
