Funky Folds Blog Hop – April

Hi there, Welcome to the April Funky Folds Blog Hop – come along on a journey with us!

We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with
funky folds. Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional
or striking way”… so we are featuring cards that are not your usual
rectangle/square portrait or landscape style.

Think ‘easel’, ‘pop-up’, ‘gatefold’, ‘z-fold’, ‘shaped’ or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.
All Funky Fold Blog Hops have an ‘anything goes’ theme using any type of ‘funky’ card fold.

I’ve made a Star fold card with pretty floral paper and cute little flowers.

After deciding to join this Blog Hop I immediately thought……I wanna make a Star Card! I’ve never done one before – but I just thought it fits the Funky Fold category perfectly.

I pondered this for some time and had no idea how or what I was going to do to make a Star Card……then my sister said to me. “I’ve made one of those….and they are easy!” “Yeah right!” I thought….. so she shared a link with me….and there it all was.

This card is Inspired by my sister Nadine, who in turn found the inspiration for her Star card from another crafty friend Delys Cram. (Follow the links to the instructions).

The star card opens up to be a Triangle……I think it’s a very clever Funky Fold.

Up next in the Hop is Rochelle Blok. Rochelle’s cards are always beautifully layered and embellished with gorgeous ribbons so I’m looking forward to see what she has made.

I hope you enjoy journeying through this Blog Hop and find a heap of inspiration for your next project.

  1. Wow!! Chantell, this star card is really clever. Kudos to your sister and Delys for the initial inspiration. I love the cute little flower die-cuts for added dimension. So glad you could join in with the Funky Folds Blog Hop.

  2. A wonderful Star Fold card Chantell. It looks great both closed as a star and opened too. Love your special touches of little flowers and twine. I had thought of using this fold last Christmas but I didn’t get to it. You have inspired me to give it a go. Thanks for the links. xxx

  3. Ooh! I love this Chantell! I’ve never seen one before! The use of the DSP and the little flowers make fore a gorgeously embellished card! I must give this one a try! Thanks so much for sharing! Rochelle xo

  4. Oh how sweet Chantell. Love this! Such a fun fold and all of your little added details really top it off.
