JAI # 188 Just Add….Grunge!

What a great theme…Grunge!  I had a lot of fun putting this card togther…..then I did another version…..then I pulled bits off and added other bits on….. then I totally started again…..pulled more bit’s off and stuck other bits on again…..and then…..finally settled on my finished card.

When I made this I kinda had 1980’s Madonna, Lace Gloves, ripped jeans, chewing gum, red lipstick, teased hair thoughts in my head.  I liked adding the flicks of ink but then glammed it up with the black sequins.  I think the stitching (although a bit wiggly) adds to the texture of the card.

So – show us your Grunge at Just Add Ink.  We would love to see it.  And check out the other Grunge projects from the Design Team.

Just Add Ink # 77 – Sketch Challenge

Well here we are again for another Friday Just Add Ink Challenge and this week we have a Sketch put forward by Bron. I personally found it a hard one although it doesn’t look difficult. Maybe I was just having a creative block due to other issues of daily life.

It’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and this week we have a Sketch provided by Bronwyn Eastley.   Here it is…..

I decided to do a Scrapbooking page using this Sketch.

I have used Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry.  I cut the letters using the Big Shot.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have put together a great range of projects using this Sketch – to check them out click here.

Just Add Ink # 37 – Colour Combo

It’s Colour Combo time at Just Add Ink.  Danielle described it as a Scary looking Colour combo….and I tend to agree.  But you should see the amazing things the Just Add Ink girls have done…..Wow wee.

These are the colours…

I did not know what I was going to do with these….looked at them for quite some time before I decided I just had to start.  So this is the card I came up with.

I’ve used the Every Moment Stamp set – which I am loving. And the Very Vintage Wheel.

So go and check out what the Just Add Ink girls have done – and have a go yourself.

PS: Did you know it’s October – already!

Swaps, Team Events

Regional Swaps

There is no Card Class tonight – due to some ladies being sick, some away and some unable to make it…..so I thought instead I would post some of the Swap cards I got while I was at Regionals last weekend.  Enjoy……

Love this cute little bird…….made by my good friend Susan Joyce.

Made by Avril Lee – I love the colours she has used.

Ohh – I have to get some of these Butterflies.  This card is done my a fellow Just Add Ink Designer – Jodene Tripp.

Made by Michelle Scott – love all the elements to this card – shapes and colours.

Made by  Tonia Brown.  Cool Butterfly and Vintage elements.

This is by Lynn Powell – I love all the different shapes and textures on this card.

So – that as small selection of the swaps I got.  I will post some more another day.

Thank you to everyone that swapped with me.

Challenges

Inkspiration Colour Challenge # 30

Ohh this is really exciting (for me) cause this week I am the Guest Designer on Makeesha’s Inkspiration  Colour Challenge.  You may have seen a few weeks ago the Card (below) I did for her last Colour challenge – well that was choosen as the winning one – and that is how I because the Guest Designer this week…..exciting aye?

So onto the Challenge.  Here are the colours:

I kinda did not know what to do with this – and I ended up making Three different things.  But the one I have submitted for the Challenge was the last one.

I’ve used the Very Vintage Wheel for the background.  I inked the Medallion with Old Olive and then stamped some Rich Razzleberry flowers onto it – then I stamped the Medallion onto wet Watercolour Paper.

Here is the first Card I did:I did not submit this one because I realised I had used the same stamps as I had used on the last colour challenge.

So then the second card I did was this one.

And I realised that this also was the same as the Challenge Sketch from last week…..so I made the Medallion Card that you have seen already.  Oh well – I got there in the end!  I’ve really enjoyed having a go at these Challenges in the last few weeks.  Here is the link so you can have a go too.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #29

The Inkspiration challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge – I really enjoyed joining in last week – so thought I would give this one a go too.  There was also a little “Add On” to the Challenge this week – which is to use something from your stash that you have been hoarding for a while.   EASY – I have heaps of stuff like that!!  This is the Sketch.

Makeesha+Sketch+029-1

Here is the card I created.

There are actually a few things on this card that I have had in my Stash for a while…..

Firstly the 3 Flowers from the Pretties Kit.  I have had my Pretties Kit for about 2 years and have only just started to use the flowers.  I have coloured the top two flowers and stamped on the largest one.

Secondly – the wide Twill Tape (which is under the Certainly Celery Ribbon).  Here I have stamped on it.  I have used it a couple of times – but it is one of those ribbons that I never use much.

I decided to make this a Z Fold Card – which luckily also fits with the sketch.  That works well for me because the Class I am running next week is a Z Fold Class.  So if you’re coming along – here is a preview of one of the projects.  (Unless I change it between now and then)!

Candle Wraps

After having a couple of weeks without Classes – we kicked the classes off again last night by doing some Candle Wraps.

I first saw these done by fellow Team Member Jan Radu – as did Kerry another Team Member.  Kerry said to me – how about doing a Candle Wraps class – so we did.

The first one we did was one that I had put together for one of the Un-convention Challenges in May.  The Challenge was to use Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Rich Razzleberry.

The next Candle Wrap was inspired by this Card designed by Kerry High.  We did it at our Team Day in January.  I really like it and look at it often – hence why it became my inspiration .

I did two Candle Wraps to inspire the ladies – and then gave them a few colour choices – so they mixed and matched to put their Candle Wraps together.  Here are the one’s I did.

One thing to remember – if you decided to do something like this – is to make sure the Candle Wrap is removed when lighting the Candle…….cause it could be dangerous if it catches on Fire.

Un-Convention….

Wow – I had the Fun-est weekend.  Stamped me heart out!

It was the Weekend of the SU Convention in Sydney – which I had plans of going to until I got sick.  When it was time to sign up for Convention I was too ill to think about it – so I decided it was best if I stayed home.  I was (and still sort of am) really disappointed.

Instead I joined up with heaps of other Demo’s that did not go and we had Un-Convention.  It was held in Cyberspace by the ESAD group – which is a group I have belonged to for a couple of years now.

And we had the best time!  There were four days of Challenges and stamping and chatting and it was just great.  I had a ball.  Nadine (my sister) joined in on the stamping and we chatted alot too – which was fun.

I will slowly post the things that I made here so you can see them.  Some of them will be used for my up-coming Class project too.  The first one I am going to show you is a little Top Note Gift Card Holder.

This one is kinda special – cause first up I don’t have a Big Shot – so I had to free hand cut it out.  And second because I just found out that it WON the challenge!  Cool.  I’m so excited!!  (Sorry – slightly excited about some Paper & Ink there, hee hee hee).
