Just Add Ink Challenge # 326 – Just Add Project Life!

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is to Just Add Project Life.

Project Life is a fast and easy Scrap booking system.  It’s a really quick way to put together fun scrap booking pages.  You just slip your photos into pockets and then add extra cards, journal sheets or pre-printed embellishments.  I’ve been wanting to try this for a while so when this Challenge came up, it seemed the perfect time to do it.

Here is the page or pages rather, that I put together:

This is what they look like together:

I used 2 x 6″ x 8 Photo Pocket Pages.  The cards and printed acetate frame are from the Memories in the Making Card Collection.

My page is all about when the Giants came to Perth.   This was part of the Perth Arts Festival in February 2015 and I just loved it.  I looked forward to it for months and saw as much of it as I could over the time is was on – and loved every minute of it.

And….these pages fit very nicely into the Scrap book that I am working on at the moment – which is all about things I’ve done, seen, experienced while living in Perth.

So – there are many wonderful things that you can do with Project Life – not just Scrap Booking!!!  Check out what the Design Team have done at Just Add Ink and join us for this Challenge.

And…here’s a couple more Pic’s from that wonderful event.

Celebrating 100 Just Add Ink Challenges

Welcome to The Just Add Ink – Just Add Crowns Blog Hop.

Since 1917, the Sovereign has sent congratulatory messages to people celebrating notable birthdays and anniversaries.

Cards are sent to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their diamond wedding (60th), 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.

For many people, receiving a congratulatory card from The Queen to mark a significant birthday or wedding anniversary is a very special part of their celebrations.  Delivery of congratulatory messages is arranged by the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen’s congratulatory messages consist of a card containing a personalised message. The card comes in a special envelope, which is delivered through the normal postal channels.

At Just Add Ink this week, we are Celebrating the milestone of 100 Challenges.   I don’t think we will be getting a Card from the Queen – however instead we have a Just Add Crowns Blog Hop for you.

For this Challenge I decided to put together a Scrapbooking Page.  My inspiration actually came from Sarah’s Fifth Birthday Cake.  It was all Pink with a Tiara on the top.  The Tiara had flashy lights and fluffy feathers round it.

I also used one of Sarah’s Head Bands for inspiration.  The band had broken and I’d asked Sarah if I could use it – I thought I could preserve it for her……. but I was not allowed!!   So I had to make a paper copy of it.   Funny though – after I had finished, I showed Sarah and she said…..”Ohhh I said you could use it”!!

Anyway, here is my page……I decided on the word Princess as Sarah is a Hebrew word meaning Princess.

You can click this link to see what the Design Team have put together this week – OR you can follow the Blog Hop.  Click here to visit Just Add Ink.

Because its our 100th  Birthday, we are giving away some prizes this week too!!   One prize for the winner of the challenge.  And one for a blog reader/participant who comments on ALL of the Blog Hop stops along the way. When you’ve done that simply email the Just Add Ink hotmail and tell us youve completed commenting on the blog hop….and you will be in the draw to win.

So to continue on the Blog Hop just click on the badge below – you will be forwarded to the wonderful Delys.
Enjoy!!!

Happy New Year – Just Add Scrapbooking # 1

Hey – Happy New Year Everyone – and Best Wishes for 2012!

Here’s something NEW for the NEW Year……..at Just Add Ink we will be having monthly scrapbooking Challenges on the first Sunday of each month and it starts today 1st January.  So the idea is to scrap a LO (Layout=scrapbook page) in any size but it must be a LO to go into an album .ie not an OTP/mini album.

Since this Month is our very first Scrapbooking Challenge and its the first day of the New Year the Theme is “Firsts or One”.   So please make sure you have First or One in your title.
Here is the one I did………..

I decided to Scrap some photo’s from Sarah’s First Birthday – I have had these photo’s ready for a while so it was the perfect challenge.  I realise now that I have not added any journalling to the page…..so might have to add some.  This was also my first go at making a kids cake and I was really wrapped with the result.  I even made the flowers with marshmallows and jelly crystals.

The girls at Just Add Ink have put together some fabulous pages to inspire you so click here to check them out.  They have also shared some of their 1st ever pages too…..so I decided to add mine here for you to see. This is one of my fav pic’s of Sarah and I (even though you can’t really see me) – it was taken in the first 24 hours of Sarah’s life – she was so tiny and just snuggled in there.

So here’s to a creative and inspiring 2012 and we all hope you enjoy our brand new Scrapbooking Challenges.

Just Add Ink # 77 – Sketch Challenge

Well here we are again for another Friday Just Add Ink Challenge and this week we have a Sketch put forward by Bron. I personally found it a hard one although it doesn’t look difficult. Maybe I was just having a creative block due to other issues of daily life.

It’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and this week we have a Sketch provided by Bronwyn Eastley.   Here it is…..

I decided to do a Scrapbooking page using this Sketch.

I have used Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry.  I cut the letters using the Big Shot.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have put together a great range of projects using this Sketch – to check them out click here.

JAI # 73 – Sketch Challenge

Ohhh – a Sketch Challenge.  When I get a Sketch Challenge to do I and I have no Cards that I’m thinking of making – I like to have a go at a bit of Scrapbooking……..and that is what I did with this sketch.

Here is the sketch……

Here is my page…….

I had been wanting to  use that picture of Sarah for some time.  I really love the photo. It was taken by Ana in February last year when we were at Garvey Park celebrating Ana’s 21st Birthday. We had had a BBQ and the girls were running round the park as the sun was going down.

I have used Peach Parfait and Chocolate Chip.  The DSP is called Sunny Garden.

To enter your project into this Sketch Challenge – visit Just Add Ink here.  While your there – check out the lovely projects that have been put together by the Design Team.

Team Day for A Klass Act

Yesterday we had our quarterly Team Day.  It was great to go and quickly catch up with lots of Stamping Friends.  I say quickly because I had to run away early due to work commitments.

We had some great projects to work on – although my pic’s of them are not that great – but I’ll still show you anyway.

First up was a great card from Louise Layton.I liked doing this project – because I got to have a go with the Big Shot – which I had never done before, so that was exciting.  The Tree thingy is coloured using the Thumping Technique – which is great for multi coloured images – very effective – don’t you think?

The Stamp Sets  we used here are all so ones I had not used before – Pendant Park & Teeny Tiny Sentiments which are both in the current Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

Our Second Project was a fabulous Scrap page by Sarah Klass.
We got to make these fab little flowers from a small square of card….they are so lovely.  The Stamp set is Baroque Motifs which is one of my favourites.  I just have to decide what Pic’s I am going to add to this page.

Our last project was a little box – that is a case of one sent to me by one of my Secret Sisters Jenny Adams.  Loved it so much I thought I would have a go at making one.

We used the Cottage Wall DSP and Vintage Vogue Stamp from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

Below is a pic of the Bundle of Goodies I received from Jenny Adams – so you can see where I got the idea from.

It was a beautiful pack of goodies and I was very spoilt.  Inside the box was the Passion Fruit Body Butter – that not only is divine – but also matches these papers and colours perfectly.  How about that!!

Farewell to our Dear Puke

My sister and I have kinda joint owned a Puke-cat for quite some time now – but recently she passed away and we will all miss her.

She really belonged to Nadine – who rescued her from a bag of kittens thrown out on the side of the road about 16 years ago.  She was just a little fluff-ball then.  We did not know she would become such a large part of our lives.

About 8 years or so ago (I think) my sister went off travelling and so Puke came to live with me.  She was just such a lovely cat….and did some funny things.  I installed a Cat door – so she could come and go as she liked – but if I was home – she would still sit at the front door and Meow and scratch till I got up and let her in.  Some times I would yell….”GO ROUND THE BACK”!

She was a great hunter and I had to hang a bell on her collar to warn un-suspecting Birds, Mice or Rats – otherwise I would find them in my bedroom, lounge or hallway – often alive!

She loved chasing lights – all around the place – up the walls, furniture and round and round in circles on the floor.  I got a torch for her and if I clicked it on and off she would come running and watch it till I played the torch game with her.

She loved games so much – she had a little toy mouse that she threw around everywhere – and stalked and carried round in her mouth.   If she got a bit bored or was not getting enough attention while we were watching TV so would scratch the lounge room door until someone got the mouse on a string or torch for her to chase.

When I moved to Aussie at the beginning of 2008 – Puke went back to live with Nadine.  We’d loved to have brought her – but I just felt that going to Perth was too bigger move for her – and she was not good at travelling at the best of times and was getting on in years too.

When my Mum was visiting recently – I decided to make and send home to my sister this scrapbooking memory of Puke.
It has pull out photos with space on the back of each one for us to write about the cool things Puke did.

Puke loved to lounge around and show off her fluffy tummy.
She had a pink and white toy mouse she loved to play with. Here she is sitting on the lawn with Sarah.
Puke loved to “Hang Out” – she often used to drape herself over the couch or lie on her back and hang over the edge of the bed or couch.
Bye Bye our Puke.  We will miss you.

Just Add Ink # 24- Sketch Challenge

Wow – look at this Sketch – which is the Challenge at Just Add Ink this week.

Hmmmm – I pondered on this for quite some time before I made a start on a project.  I could not decided what to do – but I did want to have another go at Scrapbooking.  So here is what I came up with.
I have always loved this Pic of Ana & Sarah – which was taken the day we brought Sarah home from the hospital.  Ana was at home because she had busted her knee and could hardly move – but she loved giving her new sister a cuddle.

I have used the Wild About You Stamp Set and I have spritz the background with ink.

This sketch is such a good one – the Just Add Ink Design Team have created some beautiful projects with it.  Here is the link so that you can go and have a look at them.

Just Add Ink – Colour Challenge

We are doing a Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink this week.  The colours are not really ones that I would have put together – but once I started playing around I ended up with a few finished projects.

The colours are:

This week I have also had a go at the Joseph’s Coat Technique – which involves colouring a piece of Glossy Card with a couple of different inks and the embossing some bold images over it with Clear Embossing powder.  Once you have done that you use a Darker ink to go over the top.  So I used this technique on my Just Add Ink Colour Challenge card.  Here it is.

I then used some of the off-cuts from that Card to put together another one.

Finally with these colours I did another Scrapbooking page.

So as you can see – these colours can be used in many different ways – and the Just Add Ink Design Team have made some fantastic projects that you must see.  So visit Just Add Ink now – have a browse and then make a Challenge entry your self.  See you there.

Just Add Ink – Sketch Challenge

Wow – another week has flown by and we are just that little bit closer to Christmas!  Far out the year is flying.

I’ve been busy with all sorts of things this week – My Mum has been visiting – so we have been trying to make the most of her time here.  I have not been in my Craft room much.  But I did make a few little gifty things for my Mum to take home to my friend Kim and my Sister – which I will post here soon.

I also included part of Mum’s visit into my Just Add Ink project this week…which is a Sketch Challenge. This is the sketch.

Last Friday Mum, Sarah and I went to the Zoo.  We had a great time wandering around. I decided to do a Scrapbook page with some of the pic from the day.

I have a few more pics of our day – so I am going to try to put together another page to compliment this one – and make it a two page spread.  When I’ve done it I’ll post it here to show you.

I’ve used Chocolate Chip, Garden Green and Creamy Caramel.  On the left hand side of the page I made a little tabbed piece which pulls out.  I have written the story of our day on it.

BTW – Don’t forget to visit Just Add Ink to check out the other awesome Sketch projects by the Design Team.  And then you can go back later to add your Sketch Challenge entry on too.
