Just Add Ink # 218 – Colour Combo

It’s a Colour Challenge (with a Twist) at Just Add Ink this week, courtesy of Kim.

The reason this Colour Challenge has a twist is because there are actually 5 colours – but you can pick which 3 you would like to use.  These 5 colours are the 2012-2014 Stampin Up In-colors and are very close to retiring – so this is our way of saying farewell to them.

Here are the colours …

JAI 218

Here is the card I did:

JAI # 217 Just Add a Cup cake or Cake

This sounds like a yummy challenge doesn’t it?   It’s certainly a fun one.

At first I did not think I had any Cake or Cup Cake images in my stamp collection.  But I do have a couple.

I went for peppermint green! Yummy.

The colours are actually Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe.  For the Layout – I looked through some old Catalogues for inspiration.  The stamps came from the Happy Moments Stamp Set.

So check out the rest of the Yummy cake and cupcake creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team and play along with our Just Add a Cup Cake / Cake Challenge.

Almost the end of another week – so time for another Just Add Ink Challenge.  This week, Kim has put a sketch together for you us to all work with – it can be converted into a scrapbook page, used on a card or 3D project.  I made a card.

Here is the sketch:

JAI # 210 Just Add Easter bags, boxes and baskets

The first Term at School is nearly done, the Hot Cross Buns have been in the shops since Boxing Day and the supermarkets are full of wall to wall Chocolate Eggs – so that must mean a sneaky Bunny is about to go hopping through town – leaving hidden treats everywhere!  And when the bunny does arrive, we at Just Add Ink will be ready with our Just Add Easter bags, boxes and baskets……..hee hee hee!!

I made a box and matching card.  I used strips of paper to make the decorated panel for my egg shape.  The little chicks were made with the Bird Punch.

Visit Just Add Ink to see more Easter boxes and baskets.

I decided on an Easter theme for my card.  I like the fluffy bits on the Bunny – they really finish it off and was a great suggestion for the card from my friend Sandie.

So visit Just Add Ink to show us your Just Add Layers project.  The Design Team have out-done themselves this week with their creations – so check them out.

And below is a pic of my sweetheart who turned 8 last week.  She had a Rainbow, Sparkle, Dress Up party.  Here she is dressed as Draculaura.

I made this card using Whisper White Card Stock – and then realised that I should have used Very Vanilla, to truly fit with this Challenge.  Whoops!!Anyway – I decided to leave my card as it was.

The Design Team have come up with some lovely projects using this lovely colour combo – so after you’ve got your inspiration and made your creation don’t forget share with us and link it up at Just Add Ink.

Just Add Ink # 182 Frames

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is Just Add Frames.

I was thinking about Frames and all the different types – like door frames, the frames of your glasses, the frame around your computer screen ….there are so many.

I thought about the type of frames on cards – and I decided my fav type was a shaker card – so that is what I did.  Here it is:

I really like how these colours came together too – it was my first play with the new Incolours.  I have used: Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding.  They are very soft and pretty.

So if you have an idea for a card or project that incorporates a Frame – make it and then share it with us at Just Add Ink.

JAI # 163 – A Fun Background

The idea for this weeks challenge was suggested by Nikki – and it’s a darn good one too.  The Design Team have put together some wonderful projects with Fun Backgrounds – a few of which you may want to try.  I certainly loved this Challenge.  Here is my project…..

DSC00125

As you can see, I decided to use some DSP and weave my background.  This is such an effective technique and can be done many ways.  Not only can you use DSP but you can also use plain or embossed card stock or card stock you have stamped (either before or after you have done the weaving).

So show us your Fun Background ideas at Just Add Ink – and also check out the Design Team Members projects.
