Just Add Ink # 269 – Colour Combo

It’s Color Combo time at Just Add Ink this week and it’s a great Colour Combo too – put together by Kim.

This incorporates a couple of the In-colours, Tip Top Taupe and Lost Lagoon and then two very pretty blues, Soft Sky and Pool Party.

JAI 269

When I looked in my stash of stuff in my craft room I realised I did not have any Tip Top Taupe and the only Soft Sky item I had, was some ribbon.  So I did have to improvise a little.  Instead of Tip To Taupe I used Crumb Cake.  Here is my card.

DSC00102With such pretty colours (can you tell I like them) you HAVE to go and check out what the Design Team at Just Add Ink have made – beautiful.  And then, join us for this Challenge too.

Just Add Ink # 266 – Colour Challenge!

It’s time for a Colour challenge.  These are great because it gives you an opportunity to use colours you may not have used before (or often) or a chance to play with colours that are your favourites.  Either way, it’s a great to bring out your creativity.  This colour combination challenge is from Nikki and I think it’s going to be a very popular Challenge at Just Add Ink – so be sure you go there and check out all the great Design Team creations.  The colours this week are:

Here is the card that I made with these colours:

JAI # 263 – Just Add Weddings!

Hello….it’s been a while huh?

I don’t even know when I posted something last.  But I am back now.

So time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge.  This week it is Just Add Weddings!  And it’s a great Challenge to get back into the swing of things.  I thought – I did not have many Wedding things in my craft area…..but now I think I do.  I made a card using some Stamps I have had for a long long time.  They are called Jessica and Jack.  They are quite versatile because you can dress them and accessorize them to fit any occasion.  Here is my Wedding card with Jack and Jessica…..

Over the last few weeks I have also been working on making a Topiary Tree – which I also think fits this challenge quite well.  It took a long time to make all those flowers but I was happy with the overall effect.
DSC00006So get working on your Weddings projects and share them with us at Just Add Ink.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 255 – Eggs or Ovals

Welcome to another fun Just Add Ink challenge.    This week as “Easter” is fast approaching,  we thought it would be fun to “Just Add Eggs or Ovals”…

Here is my card:

What better time to use this weeks challenge and start those “Easter” projects or if that isn’t your thing, you can create what ever you like, as long as you add an Egg or and Oval to your project.   And go to Just Add Ink to share it with us.

JAI # 240 Just Add Texture

It’s time for the new Just Add Ink Challenge, which is Just Add Texture.  This is a Challenge that I came up with.  There are so many ways to add texture to our projects.  Whether it be embossing, ribbons or embellishments.

I looked up the meaning of Texture and this is what I found:

Noun – the feel, appearance or consistency of a surface

Synonyms: feel, touch

Verb – give (a surface) a rough or raised texture

I made a card, here it is:

I used embossing, ribbon and some Hessian (burlap) on my card for Texture.  Even the red glitter creates texture.  It was fun to make too.
So I hope you can join in the Just Add Ink Challenge too.  Visit us here to see the other projects made by the Design Team.

JAI # 238 Sketch Challenge

It’s Friday, so time for the next  Just Add Ink challenge!

We have a sketch (designed by Kim) to inspire you – it’s very versatile.  You can use it any way you like – CAS, embellished or turned on its side. Either way – have fun with it.

I went with the Christmas theme this week.   I actually created 4 cards (a stamp a stack) using the sketch.DSC00067 DSC00066 DSC00065 DSC00069

So you can see I kept some of the elements the same – with the tags or flags.  But the sketch is the basis of each card.

Goto Just Add Ink to see other creations by the Design Team – they are all lovely.

Hope you can join us this week!

Just Add Ink # 230 – Just Add Dad!

Hi everyone!…it time for the next Just Add Ink Challenge.  It’s a very special one this week.   Just Add Dad!

This challenge is celebrating Dad’s, because this weekend, it’s Fathers Day in Australia and New Zealand,    So it’s a great time to create a special card or project especially for Dad.
Here is my card:

I’ve used a couple of the new In-colours, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.   I’m loving that stitched satin ribbon!
I don’t know if any of you joined us at Just Add Ink for last weeks challenge?  It was an Inspiration Challenge – using  wonderful, colourful, rainbow pictures.  There were heaps of amazing projects that were shared with us…..I really enjoyed looking at them and think I will go back for more looks and inspiration.
The reason I mentioned it, is because the card I have done this week started with a technique shared in last weeks challenge.  Leah Weir shared a beautiful card with a great background technique – and I just had to give it a go.
This was my first attempt.  It’s fun, easy and very effective,  so you should try it too.
Meanwhile…….Join us for Just Add Dad’s – at Just Add Ink.
We did Fathers Day a bit early.  First we met Ana and Jeremy for lunch – which was very nice.  Then afterwards Sarah and Neil went GoKarting.  Both loved it – and they have been back again this week for another go after school.

Just Add Ink # 227 – Just Add Chipboard

It was me that suggested this Challenge for Just Add Ink.  Just Add Chipboard.

I thought it would be good to have a go at working with something a bit different.  I think that Chipboard can add a great dimension to your projects.   So here is my Card:

The chipboard elements on my card are the swirly thing and the two butterflies (one on top of the other).
