JAI # 108 – Colour Combo

Here’s a great Colour Combo for you – given to us by Nikki Spencer.Given that I love pretty much all Blues – I really like this Combo.  The two blues – Pool Party and Indigo Island work so well together.  Here is my card……..

This is my new Stamp Set – it is called The Open Sea – and is perfect for MAN cards.   Also – I should mention where I got this sketch/layout from…….it’s actally from the 2007/2008 Stampin Up Idea Book & Catalogue.  I use my Catalogues a lot for inspiration – and even after they have retired as a Catalogue they are still full of fantastic ideas.

JAI # 102 – Just Add….Kathy Tanner!

This week the Just Add Ink challenge is to be inspired by one of our own Design Team members……Kathy Tanner.  Kathy uses some great shapes in her work and is very talented at using lots of stamping images to put together collage cards.  This is our chance to show you how Kathy inspires the Design Team at JAI with her work.

I really love the Ribbon Flowers that Kathy makes and the shapes that she uses in her card layouts.  So instead of choosing one of Kathy’s projects to case I looked at several and put together my card:

I have used Daffodil Delight and Whisper White on this card.

So join in the fun with us and create something inspired by Kathy Tanner.  Follow the link to Just Add Ink to see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with and to show us what you have put together.

JAI # 72 – Just Add Colouring

We are colour in at Just Add Ink this week……..there are loads and loads of things that can be done with colouring in.  I decided to take my inspiration this week from the Stampin Up Idea Books and Catalogues.

First I flicked through the Current Catty to find a colour combo.  It’s from pages 50 & 51 of the current Catty.  Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Baja Breeze.

Then I flicked through the 2007/2008 Catty to find a Layout on Page 95.   HINT: I keep all my old Catties – cause they are great to use for ideas and inspiration.  There are so many ideas to help get you started creating something new.

So here is the card that I came up with…….

I was amazed when colouring the flowers.  I used one colour – Concord Crush and an Aqua Painter.  I got such a range of colours from purple right through to pink!  Wicked!

Just Add Ink # 70 – Sketch

Far out – 70 Just Add Ink Challenges so far – can you believe it.  Isn’t that wonderful?

So I hope you join in and play along with # 70 which is a Sketch Challenge.  It is a round Sketch……

There is so much you could do with this sketch – here is the card I did

When I made this card I had been making Kid’s Cards…..so I used the little owl and brayered a background for him

Here is is open……

I really like how the leaves/branches came out actually – it as a bit of tricky cutting and glueing but worth it I think.

You should see what the other girls have made – awesome man…..check them out here at Just Add Ink.

Just Add….Sympathy

The Challenge at Just Add Ink this week is Just Add Sympathy.  Sympathy Card is actually something that I am asked to make quite often.  They are ones you want to have on hand ready to give at the right moment.

It did not take me long to put this together – cause the idea had been stored in my memory for some time.

So I masked of the circle and then used my brayer and Pocket Silhouettes stamp set to do this.  The colours are So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red & Chocolate chip.  The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations.

Go check out the Design Teams creations here.

Just Add Ink # 34 – Colour Combo

We are doing a Colour Combo Challenge this week at Just Add Ink.  And they are lovely colours……..

This week – again I just did not know what I was going to do.  And so I got the card colours out and started to play around.  Then I looked at my punches and realised that I had not used the Star punches recently…..so away I went with them.  And here is the end result.

So although these colours are quite girly…..my card isn’t.   To be honest – I’m not sure I really even like it!  But as my time was tight so I only had one chance to create for this challenge.  I do like the sparkly glitter that I put on the stars.

Here is the link for you to go and check out the Just Add Ink Design Team’s creation…..and I reckon you should too…cause they are just beautiful.

Just Add Ink – Colour Challenge

It’s Colour Challenge time at Just Add Ink this week.  The colours this week are sort of bright but kinda wintery too….well that’s how I put them together anyway.  Here they are:

The Design Team have come up with some amazing creations using these colours.  Due to changes in the way the DT works I get to have a week off this week – so you won’t see my card there as a DT member – but as a Challenge participant instead.  Fun huh!!

Here’s what I did with the colours.

So you can see that I am still playing with my Brayer.  And I have used the Butterfly stamp from Live Your Dream which is now a retired that I still love.

Here’s the Just Add Ink link so you can go and check out the DT projects too.

Card Classes, Challenges

Z Fold Card Class

We did a Z Fold Card Class last night.  I decided to do this after doing a Z Fold Card Challenge as part of the ESAD Un-Convention in May.   I found Z Folds easy to do but very effective.

The card I did for Un-Convention was this one……

On this card I used Baja Breeze & Night of Navy.  The Stamp Sets are Pick a Petal & Hello Again.

Originally I was going to do this in the class – but in the end we did the Z Fold Card that I had put together when doing the Inkspiration # 30 Challenge.

This is the other Card we did:

Here I have used Baroque Motifs, Good Friend and Short & Sweet.  The colours are Brocade Blue, Sage Shadow, Pale Plum and Barely Banana.

Challenges

Inkspiration Colour Challenge # 30

Ohh this is really exciting (for me) cause this week I am the Guest Designer on Makeesha’s Inkspiration  Colour Challenge.  You may have seen a few weeks ago the Card (below) I did for her last Colour challenge – well that was choosen as the winning one – and that is how I because the Guest Designer this week…..exciting aye?

So onto the Challenge.  Here are the colours:

I kinda did not know what to do with this – and I ended up making Three different things.  But the one I have submitted for the Challenge was the last one.

I’ve used the Very Vintage Wheel for the background.  I inked the Medallion with Old Olive and then stamped some Rich Razzleberry flowers onto it – then I stamped the Medallion onto wet Watercolour Paper.

Here is the first Card I did:I did not submit this one because I realised I had used the same stamps as I had used on the last colour challenge.

So then the second card I did was this one.

And I realised that this also was the same as the Challenge Sketch from last week…..so I made the Medallion Card that you have seen already.  Oh well – I got there in the end!  I’ve really enjoyed having a go at these Challenges in the last few weeks.  Here is the link so you can have a go too.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #29

The Inkspiration challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge – I really enjoyed joining in last week – so thought I would give this one a go too.  There was also a little “Add On” to the Challenge this week – which is to use something from your stash that you have been hoarding for a while.   EASY – I have heaps of stuff like that!!  This is the Sketch.

Makeesha+Sketch+029-1

Here is the card I created.

There are actually a few things on this card that I have had in my Stash for a while…..

Firstly the 3 Flowers from the Pretties Kit.  I have had my Pretties Kit for about 2 years and have only just started to use the flowers.  I have coloured the top two flowers and stamped on the largest one.

Secondly – the wide Twill Tape (which is under the Certainly Celery Ribbon).  Here I have stamped on it.  I have used it a couple of times – but it is one of those ribbons that I never use much.

I decided to make this a Z Fold Card – which luckily also fits with the sketch.  That works well for me because the Class I am running next week is a Z Fold Class.  So if you’re coming along – here is a preview of one of the projects.  (Unless I change it between now and then)!
