JAI # 176 Just Add…Blokes!

I find, I make so many girly cards.  They are all pretty and flowery.  So this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge – Just Add Blokes was welcomed by me.
I put together a couple of Blokes cards – one of which I have already given away so can’t show it to you.   Here is the other one:

I used Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper White. The stamp set is Clockworks which is a very versatile set.

To see a whole heap of other cards/projects for Blokes visit Just Add Ink.
Have a go at the Challenge and share your Bloke projects with us too.

I also decided to put together (case) a few cards I have seen lately that can be used for Boys/Men too.

The first is the Lego Card (cased from Vicki Hodgman).  There are many Lego cards out there but I really liked the layout that Vicki had used.  Here is my version.

Believe me…..that’s a whole lot of dots!!

Next up I decided to make and Angry Birds card.  There are heaps of these around at the moment too.  My sister Nadine made one recently that I really really liked – it’s so cute.  Here is my version:

I thought this was so cute.  I (excitedly) showed it to Sarah and she said…..”Nah, it’s not as good as Aunty Noo Noo’s”!     Ohh  lol!

So, while at work I was thinking about it ….. thinking – how can I change that card to make it “MINE” ……. this is what I came up with.

So I folded it a bit differently and used a rubber band to hold it closed.

Then when you remove the rubber band and open it up there is another little Angry Bird flying through the sky on the inside.  Ha Cute!!
I actually think my Angry Bird looks more like an Annoyed Bird……but you get the idea.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone.  I’ve really been enjoying having some extra time at home this weekend.  I have spent quite a bit of time in my craft room – creating.  Yay!!

I thought I would show you a cute little Bunny Box I made – which I cased from Kim Badelt.  Kim made this a few weeks ago for our Just Add Ink – Easter Challenge – and I loved it so much – I just had to have a go.

This is Kim’s Bunny Box………

And here is my version of it……………

Cute huh?  Thank you Kim for this fab box idea.

The Easter Bunny came to our house this morning………………

A Special Birthday Book

Last year one of the Ladies at my work, Wendy – who is also my friend – Celebrated a special birthday.  Now at the time – she thought she had got away without anyone knowing……….but we found out!

So – when Wendy least expected it – we gave her a surprise Birthday Celebration.
Knowing that she is a fabulous Scrapbooker and Card Maker – and that I did some too – work asked me to put together a special card for her.

I had a few ideas and realised that I either needed a really really big card – or something else that everyone at work could sign.  So I decided to decorate a little book.  One of Wendy’s other great loves is the Eagles AFL team – their colours are Blue and Yellow – so that set the theme for the little book.

I really enjoyed putting this book together – it was made with lots of love for a fellow Paper crafter.  And it was perfect for everyone at work to write a special Birthday Message in for Wendy.

JAI # 111 – Just Add Easter

Wow – I can’t believe it’s nearly April!  That’s a quarter of the year gone already!
And that means it’s also nearly Easter…… There are thousands of Chocolate Eggs, Bunnies and Easter treats in the shops and I have seen heaps of cute and cuddly ones too.  Personally – I love toasted Hot Cross Buns dripping in melted Butter……yummy.   Anyway – I think I’m getting a bit off track here……hee hee!!

If you haven’t guessed yet – this week it’s Just Add Easter!
I put together a little Easter Basket.  It is actually based on a Template I got from AR Creations………although I have adjusted it a bit to make the bottom of it larger.
I made this out of Wisteria Wonder – which to me is a beautiful Easter Colour.  I stamped it with the Inspired by Nature stamps and made some bright flowers with the Boho Blossoms Punch and some Butterflies with Beautiful Wings.

I also used the Fancy Flower Punch to make a large flower for the top of the box.
This is a great Challenge to encourage you to have a go at making an off the page Easter Basket or box.  Visit Just Add Ink to check out what the Design Team have made.  Happy Easter Everyone.

JAI # 97 Inspiration

We have a wonderful Inspiration Challenge for everyone this week.  Check out this fab picture.

Don’t you just love those colours?  They are so bright and vibrant.  I think it’s some kind of Jewellery Ad or something – but it’s cool.  It was really the colours that struck me in terms of inspiration so I put together some flowers in these colours.

I punched out heaps of shapes with the Ornament punch and then sponge a bit of colour onto them.  I curled them a little bit with my bone folder and then stuck them onto a 1 3/4″ Circle starting from the outside and working my way inwards.

They are quite large and I have put together some little boxes and stuck them to the front.  They are going to be use to pack some little gifts into for Sarah’s School Teachers.  Here are the finished boxes.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have gather loads of inspiration from this picture this week and all come up with totally unique projects.  You can check them out here……and add your own Inspiration project too.
