Just Add Ink # 608 – Colour Combo

Hi ya,

Just Add Ink Challenge time again and this week we have a colour challenge.

The colours are bold and vibrant and quite autumny. I decided to use the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set to make my card with.

Follow the link to Just Add Ink to join this challenge.

Last weekend I went to a Team stamping afternoon. We did a Shoe box swap. That means we all designed a card and then provide the materials & supplies for 10 others to make it your card.

We all moved around the room to different places, until we made 10 different cards while 10 people make the card the you design.

It was a really lovely afternoon and I came home with some great cards.

Here are some of the cards we made (not all mine though).

Team Events, Travel

Trip to Onstage Telford

In April, Stampin Up’s OnStage Live event was held in NZ and smaller OnStage events were held in many other places around the world.   Knowing that I would be on Secondment in the Netherlands I decided to join one of the smaller events nearby.

There were several that I could have gone to (with a little bit of travel). I decided to travel to Telford in the UK for the Event.

These Events give Stampin up Demonstrators an opportunity to get together, share ideas, cards (swaps) and to see and hear about new (and exciting) products that are coming soon.   At this time of the year we also get to see, feel and smell the New Catalogue!!

On the Friday night after work – I hightailed it to Schiphol Airport and got on a flight to Birmingham. There I found a train to Telford where I was staying. So that was the first part of the adventure.

Prior to going to Europe, I had contacted a fellow Demonstrator in the UK, Joanne James, aka The Craft Owl, to see if she was attending OnStage. I explained that I was coming to the Event and perhaps could connect with her?

Joanne and her Team were very Welcoming. It was lovely getting to know them and spending the time with them.   Joanne had even made me a Crafty Owl Badge to wear.   Cute huh??

Here I am with the Crafty Owls Team!

Left to Right:  Lorraine Streeter, Me, Helen Jennings, Maggie Brinklow and Joanne “Crafty Owl” James.

When I was planning my trip, I knew that I would get a copy of the New Catalogue. I knew that it would be a UK one and therefore be in £. But I thought that would be OK.   However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Stampin Up had a AU/NZ Catalogue there for me!   Whoo hoo, awesome, Thanks SU!

I also met another Team of ladies, the Stamping Stars (headed by Stacey March), who looked after me when I first arrived. I also joined them for Dinner after the OnStage Event.

On the Sunday, bright and early, I made my way back to Birmingham and onto Schipol and then Rotterdam.   It was a whirlwind weekend – but I loved every minute of it!

Team Day – Mothers Day Theme

Last Weekend – I met up with the girls from A Klass Act for our monthly Team Day.  I’ve not managed to get to a Team Day for a while and really enjoyed my afternoon stamping and chatting.

We did a Mothers Day Shoe  Box Swap – which means that we all put together a project and then go round the room making up each others.  It’s a great way to try out new techniques, stamps or punches that I have not used before.  We made some lovely projects – here they are………..

Just Add Ink Swap Hop

 Photobucket

Recently the Girls at Just Add Ink got together to participate in a Card Swap.  A Card Swap is where all participants make multiple copies of one card design and send them off to the rest of the group.  What you end up with is a copy of everyone’s cards, but you’ve only had to design one!   We decided on a theme which was to use products from the New 2010 – 2011 Stampin Up Catalogue.

After we had all received our cards we thought it would be a great idea to show them to you…..and what better way to do it – than a Blog Hop.

Here are a few details about our Swap Hop…… there are 14 stops on our  Hop (Just Add Ink and each of our 13 Design Team members), but the hop is set up in a loop so it doesn’t matter where you start. All you need to do to follow along is click the Swap Hop button at the end of each post and you’ll be taken to the next stop! The great part of that is that you can do the Swap Hop whenever you want.

So – here we go……

The card I put together also has a story – because not only did I make it for the Just Add Ink Card Swap but I also did it as a part of a Swap that I was doing with my sister Nadine.  And I sent it to a couple of Secret Sisters I have around the world too.  This is it……….

This one is the Just Add Ink Card Swap Version.  I have used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist Cards Stock.  The Stamps are Every Moment, Baroque Motifs and the Vintage Vogue Wheel.  The Ribbon is the 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso.

The Challenge I had with Nadine was to Create Cards using the layout of the Cards on Page 82 and 83 of the 2008-2009 Stampin Up Catalogue.  Here is the Version I sent Nadine.

So this came from one of the Cards on Page 82.  I used So Saffron and Hemp Twine on this one.

Leave me a comment to let me know what you think.  I hope you have fun hopping around the Just Add Ink girls blogs.  To continue on the Just Add Ink Swap Hop – Click on the button below to visit Tania.

Klass Act Team Dinner

I had a great night out with the ladies from A Klass Act last night.  Usually when we get together – we are stamping (and it’s during the day).  It was great to go out for a lovely meal too.

We still combined it with Stamping by making and giving Secret Santa gifts.  That was fun too.  We are a talented group of ladies and made some beautiful gifts for each other.

I received I lovely box of Chocolates.

This was made by Alisha.  It’s very clever cause it has a window in the Box and lid…..so you can see the yummy contents.  And how about that Ribbon?  It’s the really beautiful 1 1/4″ Striped Grosgrain and perfect for tying round a box like this.

We were also given this cute little Bouche made with the Two-Step Owl Punch.

They were made by Michelle and this is a pic that she took of them altogether.

I put together a gift box and filled it with girly things…..Shoes & Handbags.  Inside the Shoe is a Nail Polish and File.  And the Handbag had Stampin Bits and Pieces inside.

Swaps, Team Events

Regional Swaps

There is no Card Class tonight – due to some ladies being sick, some away and some unable to make it…..so I thought instead I would post some of the Swap cards I got while I was at Regionals last weekend.  Enjoy……

Love this cute little bird…….made by my good friend Susan Joyce.

Made by Avril Lee – I love the colours she has used.

Ohh – I have to get some of these Butterflies.  This card is done my a fellow Just Add Ink Designer – Jodene Tripp.

Made by Michelle Scott – love all the elements to this card – shapes and colours.

Made by  Tonia Brown.  Cool Butterfly and Vintage elements.

This is by Lynn Powell – I love all the different shapes and textures on this card.

So – that as small selection of the swaps I got.  I will post some more another day.

Thank you to everyone that swapped with me.

SU Perth Regionals

I had a great day out today at the Stampin Up Perth Regionals.  It’s so nice to get together will like-minded friends to stamp and craft the day away.

We saw loads of wonderful demonstrations and new techniques and ideas.  We also saw and played with new stamping products and colours.  It was great.  And I have a few pic’s to show you from my day.
From L to R – Alison, Me, Janet, Kerry & Jenny.  These lovely girls are in my downline.

The Klass Act Girls.  This is the Team that I belong too.  With our wonderful Leader Sarah Klass in the front (in the brown shirt to my left).

I was wrapped to catch up with these ladies…..we are all part of the Just Add Ink Design Team.  L to R Sarah, Jodene, Amanda, Me & Jan.

So as you can tell from these pics that a big part of Stampin Up and being a Demonstrator is meeting lovely people and making great Friends.

So what about the Stamping?   Ohh there was heaps of that.  We did some great Make n Takes using some of the new products and colours that have just been released.  So here they are.
This is a cute little Love Note card.

This is a lovely 6 x 6 Scrapbook page – I have stamped mine but not put it together yet because I want to put a pic on it first.

A cute box – which I have Stamped but not put together – so it would be easier to bring home.

All of these projects use the Every Moment stamp set which is awesome for the Watercolouring and Masking techniques.

When we go to a Stampin Up meeting most of us make up some cards to swap with others while we are there.  It’s a great way to meet each other – see new products, techniques and colour used and it also gives you a good amount of samples for you to show off. I made a few swaps to share.
Here are all my Swaps on the table before I left.
This is the first one – I used the Big Shot to make the Background sheet.  The colours are Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi, River Rock.

This Brayered background is done in Baja Breeze and the Trees are stamped in Night of Navy.

This is another Brayered one…..which you might have seen before – cause I originally made it for a Just Add Ink Embossing Challenge in July.

The swaps I received were awesome.  And they will inspire me with great colour combos, techniques and layouts.  I’d like to say Thank you to all the ladies that swapped with me.  I received about 35 cards.  I have decided not to post them all today.  But will do another post soon showing you my swaps and other card ideas.
