Just Add Ink Challenge # 553 – Sketch Challenge

Well I have had a whirlwind couple of weeks – there has been alot happening – so this is a longish post.

First up, after almost 11 years I decided it was time for me to move on from Computershare. So I made the big move and handed in my notice. I finished my time off with a large meeting that I had been working on for several months.

As I was working my final week at Computershare, a travel bubble was announced between Australia and NZ…..just in the nick of time for me….. as my Dad’s 80th Birthday party was coming up!!

I flew off to NZ for 10 days – surprising Dad and my friends too!

Nadine and I did some lovely walks and spent a small amount of time crafting – including making a card for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge. If you look closely in the pics below, you will see my card in progress.

Our brother Lloyd arrived from Sydney and then it was time to head to Dad’s and surprise him. The next few days were busy with party organisation while Dad and Lloyd made some gates for Dad’s back yard.

Then party day arrived and we had a great time. It was great to catch up with family, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. There was live music, a bowling competition (which we won!!) and lots of really great food.

In a cheeky moment I said to Sarah……do you know that I have an Aunty that looks like the Queen! Can you see her??

After a delayed flight Sarah and I returned to Perth safely (no quarantine required) which was very lucky and….just in the nick of time as I started a new job the following day.

First day on the new job I was issued with PPE including my new Boots. Cute aye?

And finally…here’s my card. I used a Sale-a-bration Stamp Set call A touch of Ink (now retired) with accents of Gold.

Follow this link to Just Add Ink to see the rest of the Design Team cards for this Sketch Challenge.

I made 2 versions – here is the other and also Dad’s Birthday card too.

Just Add Ink # 490 – Just Add an Easel!

Image may contain: possible text that says 'Join the challenge! Just Add İnk justaddink.blogspot.com.au Just Add an Easel Challenge #490'

Just Add an Easel is the Challenge this week at Just Add Ink.

I decided to make an Easel card which is a fun fancy fold that is surprisingly easy to put together.  It has a built-in easel, which means the main artwork on the card stands up beautifully.  The easel part of the card then lies flat for mailing.

For this challenge I decided to step it up a bit by making a Quad Easel card.   This means that I made 4 easels and attached them to one card base.

JAI # 490 9

I used a variety of Stamp sets for this project.  Lovely Lilly Pad Stamps and Dies, So Happy Together, Fabulous Flamingo.

I also used a variety of colours.  The main ones are Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Melon Mambo.  I love the bright and boldness of them.

To join us for this Challenge follow this link to Just Add Ink.  While you are there, check out the rest of the Easel inspired cards from the Design Team.

Just Add Ink # 488 – Celebrate Blog Hop!

Hi and Happy New Year!    I’m really pleased to be opening the first 2020 Just Add Ink Challenge.   It’s a pretty special one!

It’s a Blog Hop!
It’s all about Celebration!
Our 10th Year!
And it’s Celebrating 1000 Just Add Ink Followers!

Image may contain: text

Personally, at this time of year, I think there is a lot to Celebrate and reflect on.  The year that has been and the year to come.

For me, 2019 was fabulous, with my time in Europe being a massive highlight.   At work, our busy Meeting Season went really well with European staff to help us out.   There is so much for me to Celebrate and be thankful for.

2020 – while there are no big trips planned (sad face)  I am looking forward to the year ahead.

I have been so blessed to have been with Just Add Ink for the entire 10 years,  since it started.  Over the holidays I have been reflecting on the cards and projects that I have put together for the Challenges over the years, which has been fun.  So for a laugh, here’s my first ever Just Add Ink Project: This was a colour challenge.

JAI # 1 Jan 2010

As I mentioned before, I feel there is a lot to Celebrate and be Thankful for at the moment.   But I also know, that not everyone feels that way.

To encourage a few ladies to think about what they are grateful for or perhaps to acknowledge the little things that bring them joy, I decorated a couple of note books for them.   That way they can write down the joy in their lives, in the hope that over time, they will be reminded of all the blessing around them.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 443 – Just Add Two…

Image may contain: text

The Just Add Ink Challenge this week is a fun Choose Two challenge (suggested by Jan). So that means you can ‘Choose Two’ out of the three options Embossing Paste, Colouring or Sequins to feature on your project.
I choose the Embossing Paste and Sequins – although now when I look at it………I have all three on there.  LOL.

No photo description available.

I coloured the Embossing Paste with my re-inkers and then mushed them together to get the colours mixing.   The Butterfly comes from the Sale-a-brations Botanical Butterfly DSP

Here’s the link to Just Add Ink – so you can check out all the other Choose Two projects – and share yours with us too.

Just Add Ink # 306 – Sympathy….

Sadly, we all need Sympathy cards from time to time, and I don’t know about you – but I find them hard to make.   I guess it’s is because when we want to give a sympathy card – it’s a sad occasion.  But I must say – I really appreciated the ones I received last year.

This is the card I made for this Challenge…
I used the Flowering Fields (Sale-a-Bration) stamp set and a double stamping technique.

The Sympathy Cards the Design Team have made are all lovely. Go to Just Add Ink to check them out.  Join us for this Challenge because having a Sympathy card on hand is a very good idea – and joining the Just Add Ink Challenges are fun too.

Just Add Ink # 303…….Just Add E

It’s Friday  (well it’s actually Saturday and I am just late posting this!) and it’s time for the new Just Add Ink challenge.   Challenge # 303 has been suggested by Tina.  “Just Add …E”

So with Easter coming up in about a week or so I created an Easter Card.

I like the bright colours on this card – I noticed them in the Shop window of a Chocolate Factory Shop as I was walking to work one morning during the week…..the little dots were punched and glued on individually.
I’ve been working on some fancy fold cards this week – and this is one of them.
Below are some pics to show you how it opens.

Join us for this fun Just Add E challenge at Just Add Ink.   Check out all the lovely Easter (and other E themed projects) that you can CAS from the Design Team.

And this is the card that I put together:DSC00107
I used the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper and the colours in it to decide on the rest of the project.  I used Midnight Muse Ink and Card Stock – which is a lovely blue.  And the Oval is done with Summer Starfruit Card stock.  I’m loving the Flower Trim – which is Very Vanilla – but I have coloured it with Midnight Muse Ink.  The Sentiment and Butterfly comes from the Bloomin Marvelous SAB Stamp Set.
