Happy New Year everyone – 2017….here we go!!
At Just Add Ink we always kick the year off with a Blog Hop! The 2017 Blog Hop theme is “Pop Up or Interactive” This is going to be a fun challenge and we hope you will join the challenge with us.
I decided to make an Interactive card – a Venetian Blind card.
This idea came from a card that my friend Kim gave me many years ago. I have always looked at the card she gave me and treasured it and decided it was time for me to have a go at making one. So here it is……
This card was fun and easy to make (once I worked it out). It also has endless possibilities of what you could put behind your blind.
The Blog Hop is set up in a loop so it doesn’t matter where you start. All you need to do to follow along, is click the “Next” Button at the end of each post and you will be taken to the next stop. Remember the Blog Hop also incorporates the Just Add Ink Challenge for this week. You can join in this week’s challenge by making a Pop Up or Interactive project.
So – hope that all makes sense……..here we go, now it’s time for you to move onto the next JAI Design Team Member. Just click on the button below to move onto Jan’s Blog.

Hello – Happy New Year everyone – Welcome to 2013!!
Can you believe it’s the middle of January already? And this is my first post for the Year. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas / Holiday break and are looking forward to a year full of exciting crafty projects and challenges.
As for me – I have hardly been in my craft room at all over the last few weeks. I really only ventured in there to do some much-needed cleaning and organizing. But now it’s time to get back into it all. And to start off we (at JAI) have a Blog Hop for you.
Many of you would have experienced a Blog Hop before – but if you haven’t here’s how it works…..There are 13 stops on our Blog Hop (Just Add Ink and 12 of our Design Team members). The hop is set up in a loop so it doesn’t matter where you start. All you need to do to follow along, is click the link at the end of each post and you’ll be taken to the next stop!
So here we go…….Just Add – Big Shot Blog Hop.
The Big Shot has opened up a whole new world for me and my projects. These days I just don’t know how I managed without it. It is now rare for me to make a project without using the Big Shot in some way. From Die Cutting to Embossing – the Big Shot is well used around here.
I put them together using an Antique Brad (which I love by the way) and then stuck them with some leaves onto a little fabric bag. I spritz the bag with a Shimmer Paint solution to give it a bit of sparkle.
You can see that this card features other elements made with the Big Shot – the Labels Collection Framelits and the Chevron Embossing Folder.
The Big Shot is such a versatile machine – and I’m sure this Blog Hop will provide you with heaps of ideas. Now it’s time for you to move onto the next wonderful JAI Design Team Member – Jodene who has another awesome Big Shot project for you. Follow this link to Jodene’s Blog.
Here’s a cool challenge for you … Just Add…Polka Dots!
This week the Just Add Ink Team want you to make projects with Polka Dots on them…… there are so many ways this can be done. Check out my Polka Dotted Card:
Believe it or not – my Polka Dots kinda happened and then I realised – Hey that’s Polka Dots. Funny!!
I had looked through my Papers, Cards, Ribbons, Stamps etc and thought I don’t have any Polka Dots – and then I was putting together some Baby cards for future use and made this card.
To make the Polka Dot back ground, I brayered my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder with Baja Breeze Ink and then made a Big Shot Sandwich and ran it through the Big Shot……this meant that some of the ink transferred onto the card stock – but where the dots were there was no ink. Great technique and a new way to use your embossing folders.
I have used the Baby Prints Stamp Set – which is just so perfect for Baby Cards and gifts. And the ribbon is the Baja Breeze Seam Binding – which is really soft and beautiful.
Visit Just Add Ink to see the variety of ways the JAI Design Team did it. There is such a range of inspiration for you…. I hope you have fun creating something for this challenge.
Welcome to The Just Add Ink – Just Add Crowns Blog Hop.
Since 1917, the Sovereign has sent congratulatory messages to people celebrating notable birthdays and anniversaries.
Cards are sent to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their diamond wedding (60th), 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.
For many people, receiving a congratulatory card from The Queen to mark a significant birthday or wedding anniversary is a very special part of their celebrations. Delivery of congratulatory messages is arranged by the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace.
The Queen’s congratulatory messages consist of a card containing a personalised message. The card comes in a special envelope, which is delivered through the normal postal channels.
At Just Add Ink this week, we are Celebrating the milestone of 100 Challenges. I don’t think we will be getting a Card from the Queen – however instead we have a Just Add Crowns Blog Hop for you.
For this Challenge I decided to put together a Scrapbooking Page. My inspiration actually came from Sarah’s Fifth Birthday Cake. It was all Pink with a Tiara on the top. The Tiara had flashy lights and fluffy feathers round it.
I also used one of Sarah’s Head Bands for inspiration. The band had broken and I’d asked Sarah if I could use it – I thought I could preserve it for her……. but I was not allowed!! So I had to make a paper copy of it. Funny though – after I had finished, I showed Sarah and she said…..”Ohhh I said you could use it”!!
You can click this link to see what the Design Team have put together this week – OR you can follow the Blog Hop. Click here to visit Just Add Ink.
Because its our 100th Birthday, we are giving away some prizes this week too!! One prize for the winner of the challenge. And one for a blog reader/participant who comments on ALL of the Blog Hop stops along the way. When you’ve done that simply email the Just Add Ink hotmail and tell us youve completed commenting on the blog hop….and you will be in the draw to win.
Hi everyone…..welcolme to the Fancy Folds Blog Hop (JAI # 75). Ohhh, this is so exciting – and I know you are just going to love seeing what all the girls have in store for you this week.
Joy Fold Card
For this Fancy Folds Blog Hop – I decided to do a Joy Fold Card. I decided on this because, it’s pretty easy to do but quite effective.
The one I have put together for this Blog Hop is quite simple but I just really wanted to show the actual fold / technique. The steps I used to make this card and my dimensions are as follows……
I started with 2 pieces of Pacific Point card stock that make up the base of my card.
1 – 8 ¾ “ x 4” . I scored this at 5 ¾”
1 – 9” x 3”. I scored this at 4 ½”
The other pieces of card I have cut are the layers for decoration. You could use one layer for this or DSP if you wish.
My dimensions are as follows:
1 – 5 ½” x 3 ¾”
2 – 4 ¼” x 2 ¾”
1 – 5 ¼” x 3 ½”
2 – 4” x 2 1/2”
I layered and stuck the larger Bashful Blue and Whisper White pieces into my large Pacific Point piece. I stamped some Flowers and a Butterfly on the outside flap. These are from the Every Moment Stamp Set.
I layered and stuck the Bashful Blue and Whisper White pieces inside my smaller Pacific Point piece. I stamped a Butterfly onto it. This will be the inside of your finished card.
I then layered and stuck the remaining Bashful Blue and my Flower piece to the outside of the small Pacific Point bit. This then kinda looks like a little card – that opens the wrong way. (Fold on the right hand side).
Then I put some adhesive on the back of the smaller card and stuck it to the inside centre of the large card. So when opened – it kinda looks like a card with an opening on both sides.
I hope you have a go at making a Joy Fold card – let me know if you do.
Now it’s time for you to move onto the next fabulous JAI DT member – Nikki, who has another awesome Fancy Fold for you to try. Just click on the button below to take you there
