Just Add Ink # 602 – Choose Two!

This week Just Add Ink is running a Choose Two Challenge. The items you can choose from are Stenciling, Heat Embossing and Texture Paste.

If you saw my last Blog post you would know that I have been creating some groovy cards this week and here is another one.

I used a groovy stencil to create a fun and colourful background. Then added a heat embossed sentiment as my 2nd Choose Two element.

Bron’s 60th Birthday Blog Hop # 2

Hi there, it’s time for Bron’s 2nd Birthday Blog Hop and what a fun theme we have this month!

These Blog Hops are in celebration of Bron’s 60th Birthday. Bron has got together a group of Stamping Friends to celebrating her 60th Birthday with a series of blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes!

Blog Hop # 2 is a 60s Retro theme.

As soon as I saw this theme I knew I wanted to use the Pieced Blooms dies (even though I used them for Bron’s blog hop last month). To me, they just fit the retro theme. I enjoyed making this card and love all the bold colours.

I hope you will continue to hop around all of the blogs in the 60’s Retro Blog Hop. Please follow the link to the next stop which is Sara Levin. Hope you enjoy all the Retro projects.

Just Add Ink # 600 – Inspiration!

Hi everyone,

Well it’s been quite a week here! I’m on holiday from work at the moment but have not really done anything because I have Covid, along with others in my household. Therefore we have been Isolating at home. I have so much time on my hands – but not even ventured into the craft room!

Lucky for me I made a card for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge in advance. The Challenge is an Inspiration pic that was suggested by Kerry.

I used some alcohol inks to make some autumn coloured vellum and then cut out some leaves. I used the Burlap stamp (Retired) to create a boarder for the sentiment.

Now that I look at this Sentiment – it definitely sums up this week for me!

Just Add Ink # 599 – Just Add your Favourite Animal!

Happy Easter everyone,

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge is Just Add Your Favourite Animal!
This Challenge has made me realise that I don’t really think I have a favourite Animal.

I mean I like lots of different Animals for different reasons. Like Giraffe’s because they seem awkward and graceful, Zebra’s, amaze me as all their stripes can be different patterns, Monkeys are cute, curious and very clever.

Cats are my type of house animal and I love mine snuggling up on the end of my bed. Birds and Fish are so colourful and fun to watch……ohhh what about Cow’s? Or Pig’s? Pigs are cute, when I was little we had heaps of them and I used to try to pat their noses. Penguins are cute too and little goats and rabbits…….ohh the list is endless!

So for this Challenge, I decided to look at my Stamp Sets to see what Animal Stamps I have. I quickly landed on the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set (Retired). I teamed it up with the On The Horizon Stamp Set to make my card.

I used some enamel Pebbles and a little flower die to embellish the card.

The Design Team have put together some great Animal cards. Follow this link to Just Add Ink to see them and perhaps with a few days off for Easter, you can join the Challenge too.

I know I will be doing a bit of Crafting, as I have Nadine visiting. We have already spent one day crafting and have a few more planned. We have visited a couple of crafty stores to gather supplies and seen a bit of Perth while we have been out and about.

Here are our girls – Honey and Silver. I’m sure you can tell which is Honey and which is Silver.

Just Add Ink # 598 – Colour Challenge!

This week at Just Add Ink, we are doing a Colour Challenge. Apparently I chose the colours for this challenge. Funny, cause I don’t remember doing that!

In about 10 days time, it’s my Dad’s Birthday and it just so happens, that he will be visiting me. So I decided to use the colours, get organised and make a card for him, before he arrives.

Dad is a keen gardener – a very good one in fact. He always has a very well stocked and organised shed of tools (both gardening tools and mechanical / building type tools). For his card, I have used the Home & Garden Stamp set and dies.

The background is made with a stencil and embossing paste, that I coloured with Misty Moonlight ink. It adds great texture to the card which you can kinda see with the rough edges it created.

These colours are perfect for man cards – but they are also just as perfect for a floral card – you can see more DT examples at Just Add Ink. Have a go and share your creations with us too.

Bron’s 60th Birthday Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing in a fun Birthday Blop Hop Celebration for my friend Bronwyn Eastley.

I first met Bron in 2010 when we both became Design Team members at Just Add Ink.
We have been sharing our love of papercraft and card making ever since.

Brons 60th Birthday is coming up later this year and with everything happening in the world at the moment, Bron’s original Birthday celebrations have not gone to plan. Therefore she has come up with a fabulous idea of running a series of blog hops to celebrate.

Bron has got together a group of stamping friends and we are all celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes!
We have an inspiration pic for tonight’s hop (Bron’s Blog Header) ……”

This is such a pretty picture – calming, soft colours with an air of Holidays!

I set to work and made a card (which you can see below)….and then the more I thought about Bron and her crafting the more I could not get Easel cards out of my mind……

I’m pretty sure it was Bron that introduced me to Easel cards so I decided I had to make one for this Blog Hop.

I used the Pierced Blooms dies with Blushing Bride, White, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso. I love how the piercing add texture.

And here is the card I made. As you can see I used similar elements.

Next in the Hop is Sara Levin, click the Next button below to move onto Sara’s Blog. Be sure to Hop your way all through to see project made by Bron’s friend in honor of her Birthday.

Just Add Ink # 596 – Sketch Challenge

This week I have been making cards using this Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge.

I used the New Horizons DSP, which is so lovely just on it’s own.

I also created a card using the Home and Garden stamp set and dies.

If you follow this link to Just Add Ink you can join in the Challenge too – while also seeing other Design Team cards made by the Design Team.

Just Add Ink # 594 – Masking

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge is Masking. Masking involves covering areas of your paper to protect it from being inked. I have been doing quite a bit of Masking lately, so have a couple of projects to show you.

It all started when I got some Blending Brushes.
Well actually, No….it started way after that. Mainly because when I got the Blending Brushes, they were so soft…… and smooth…… and lovely to touch…… that I thought they were “Too Good to Use”

Hahahaha!! I spent hours patting them.

Finally I took the plunge and inked them!

In saying that, I did not use the Blending Brushes for the Masking Challenge this week. For this card I masked the edges of a piece of card to make a Frame. Once the mask was in place, I stamped some colourful flowers from the Flowing Flowers stamp set.

The Flowing Flowers stamp set is great. The floral images have some great light and dark shading in them.

I used masking and the blending brushes to make the card below. Sectioning off each area, blending and then stamping. This is the Home & Garden Stamp Set with the Enamel Pebble Shapes.

One of the first cards I made with my blending brushes, uses the Enjoy the Moment stamp set. The idea and inspiration comes from Page 26 of the current Stampin Up Catalogue.

Recently, I also made a whole lot of other blended / masked cards and projects – but many of them were posted off and I did not take photos of them. Below is one of them. I masked of the bottom part of the cardstock and inked some bold colours onto the background. The stamp set is called Life is Beautiful.

To see what the Design Team have made using different types of Masking, goto the Just Add Ink Challenge.

Just Add Ink # 593 – Colour Challenge

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge is a Colour Challenge. The colours are bright and summery. Here is the card I made.

I created a background panel by tapping my ink pad directly onto the card stock. For the smaller panel I spritzed the cardstock with water and then washed it with an inked water painter. To finish the card off I added some little Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Here is the link to the Just Add Ink Challenge Blog so that you can have a look at what the Design Team has created and then join in on the Challenge yourself.

Just Add Ink # 592 – Choose Two

This week I have been playing with a mix of old (retired) and new products. Well actually….if I was being truthful I’d have to say I have actually been crocheting…..with a little bit of paper craft on the side.

For the Just Add Ink Challenge this week I created a garden scene using the new Home and Garden Dies and stamps together with the retired Sheltering Tree Stamp set.

The Challenge was a Choose Two Challenge – the categories being, Texture, Patterned Paper and Layers.

I chose Layers and Texture.

I added texture to the background with an embossing folder. It is quite hard to see in the pic but I have embossed Clouds there.

To finish it all off I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies – that are so cute!!
I thought they were too nice to use…….haha but they were perfect for this card.
