Just Add Ink # 596 – Sketch Challenge

This week I have been making cards using this Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge.

I used the New Horizons DSP, which is so lovely just on it’s own.

I also created a card using the Home and Garden stamp set and dies.

If you follow this link to Just Add Ink you can join in the Challenge too – while also seeing other Design Team cards made by the Design Team.

Just Add Ink # 594 – Masking

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge is Masking. Masking involves covering areas of your paper to protect it from being inked. I have been doing quite a bit of Masking lately, so have a couple of projects to show you.

It all started when I got some Blending Brushes.
Well actually, No….it started way after that. Mainly because when I got the Blending Brushes, they were so soft…… and smooth…… and lovely to touch…… that I thought they were “Too Good to Use”

Hahahaha!! I spent hours patting them.

Finally I took the plunge and inked them!

In saying that, I did not use the Blending Brushes for the Masking Challenge this week. For this card I masked the edges of a piece of card to make a Frame. Once the mask was in place, I stamped some colourful flowers from the Flowing Flowers stamp set.

The Flowing Flowers stamp set is great. The floral images have some great light and dark shading in them.

I used masking and the blending brushes to make the card below. Sectioning off each area, blending and then stamping. This is the Home & Garden Stamp Set with the Enamel Pebble Shapes.

One of the first cards I made with my blending brushes, uses the Enjoy the Moment stamp set. The idea and inspiration comes from Page 26 of the current Stampin Up Catalogue.

Recently, I also made a whole lot of other blended / masked cards and projects – but many of them were posted off and I did not take photos of them. Below is one of them. I masked of the bottom part of the cardstock and inked some bold colours onto the background. The stamp set is called Life is Beautiful.

Just Add Ink # 593 – Colour Challenge

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge is a Colour Challenge. The colours are bright and summery. Here is the card I made.

I created a background panel by tapping my ink pad directly onto the card stock. For the smaller panel I spritzed the cardstock with water and then washed it with an inked water painter. To finish the card off I added some little Brushed Brass Butterflies.
