Just Add Ink Challenge # 569 – Just Add “N”

Hi ya, we had a glimpse of Summer this week with a couple of really lovely warm sunny days. Unfortunately it was back to showers, wind and coldness again today. But hopefully, that won’t last for long. It did get me thinking, that it kinda went with my Just Add Ink card (theme) this week.

The Just Add Ink Challenge is Just Add N. That could mean anything starting with N – be it a stamp set, colour or theme.

For my card I decided on the theme of “Nature”. Here is my card:

I used the Forever Fern stamp set and Forever Greenery DSP (retired).

As I took a few pic’s of my card, I noticed how lovely some of the plants in the garden were looking. I even ended up taking a few pics of them too. Look at the colours and glossiness!

Just Add Ink Challenge # 567….Inspiration!

Sometimes, I take on a challenge that takes me some time…..well this was one of those Challenges.

Just Add Ink have an Inspiration Challenge this week. The pic features rich colours, a bold floral carpet, dark furniture and shiny blue elements. I like the picture, but I just struggled to complete a card I was happy with.

I spent forever, trying to create something for this challenge.   But that’s why they call it a Challenge aye?

I put together several different cards…..all of which ended up filed in the bin….. I procrastinated……I re-worked……I pulled out almost every floral stamp set I own….along with inks, dies and just about every colour of card stock I could find…..and still kept filing stuff in the bin.

The rug in this pic really jumped out at me.   The bold flower and soft leaves – it looks like a rug that would feel nice under foot.

In the end, I decided to keep it simple with the focus on the colours and one simple bloom. So here’s my card:

I used a bit of water colour paper to make a soft background and then layered up the bold flower. This two step stamp set is called Art Gallery.

So if your like me and struggle with creating from time to time, I encourage you to keep crafting, re-working, experimenting and maybe even file in the bin sometimes. Keep it simple, enjoy the process and the end result.
