Just Add Ink # 348 Ombre

Here’s the new Just Add Ink Challenge.  #348 Just Add…Ombre.  This challenge was suggested by Rochelle and it’s one I have been looking forward too since it was first discussed by the Just Add Ink Design Team last year.

The definition of Ombre, is having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially in fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark.

It also an old three-handed card game popular in Europe especially in the 17th and 18th centuries – although I don’t know much about the game!

But the colour side of it can be applied to so many things in so many ways.   In terms of Hair colours it’s often dark at the top fading to light at the bottom – and looks fantastic.  But it does not have to be restricted to just hair colours………

I put together a couple of Ombre cards, using different effects.

This is the perfect challenge to practice your brayering or sponging too.   So have a go with us!

  1. Two beautiful cards, Chantell! I love the misty feel in your first one – so perfect for a Sympathy card. And the strikingly graphic nature of your second- so cool!! xx

  2. Go you getting 2 cards done, Chantell 🙂 Two very different & so effective examples of ombre – the first has a real soft & moody look & the second is so fun & graphic.
    Di 🙂
