I had a really fun day today – carding all day with friends. I held an All Day Card Class where we made projects using 2 main products. The Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and matching Blossom Punch. Both of these products are in the current Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.
For our first project we made some Flower embellishments. We painted them with Crystal Effects so that they were all shiny. These are made with 3 of the Blossom Shapes.
These could be used on Cards, Scrapbooking pages or made into Magnets, Hair Clips or brooches.
So you can see from these projects – that there are a variety of things you can do with one stamp set and punch. The projects that I have done here have all been inspired by projects, cards or technique’s that I saw done by other talented Stampin Up Demonstrators at the Stampin Up Convention in Canberra a few weeks ago.
It took me ages this week to get my Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge project together……I had lots of ideas and thoughts of how it was going to look, swimming round in my head – but every time I tried to put something together – it just did not work. I guess its just like that sometimes. Actually I was kinda a the point where I was thinking…… nah it’s just not gonna come together this week.
And then – I sat down took inspiration not just from the sketch – but also from a swap card I had received from my friend Jacque Pedersen – and wa-lah…..it all came together.
The DSP is the new Twitterpated – that is in the current Mini Catalogue. It’s really lovely.
Join us at Just Add Ink in this Challenge – it’s lots of fun and we love to see what projects you put together too.
Yay – time for another Just Add Ink Challenge. This week we are Just Adding Delys Cram……that means we are CASEing her work.
Delys makes projects that are full of wonderful shapes and beautiful bow’s. But the main thing that strikes me with Delys’s work is her brilliant use of colourful DSP’s. So I have decided to CASE one of the cards she has made using scraps of DSP.
This is the card that Delys made:
She has used my fav DSP – which is the Everyday Enchantment DSP and Brads from Sale-a-brations. So I followed that Theme too. I also love the shapes on this card – as Delys says – this is a great way to use up those little bits of left over DSP.
Here is my card:
I have used papers from the same pack of DSP – Everyday Enchantment and the Everyday Enchantment Brads and Ribbons too. Instead of putting my sentiment on a tag I decided to add a Butterfly in Calypso Coral Ink. The base card is Pool Party – which I think is my new fav colour.
Follow this link to Just Add Ink – there you will find many other projects that also CASE Delys (put together by the Design Team). And here is the link to Delys Cram – so you can choose one or several of her fabulous projects to case too. And then return to Just Add Ink to share with us what you have made.
Gee – the week has gone fast. It’s nearly time for another Just Add Ink Challenge……but before then I wanted to share this Birthday Card with you – that I got from my sister – Nadine.
When Nadine saw that the Just Add Ink Challenge this week is – Just Add Pearls – she said – I know I can enter your Birthday Card ……. but then she realised she had not taken a pic of it. Ohhh no!
So I have taken the pic and am sharing this for her. She planned to blog it herself – but has got caught up at work.
The Stamp Set Nadine has used is a Hostess Set called Array of Sunshine – it’s lovely isn’t it. The colours are Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist.
Very Pretty – Thank you Nadine.
I have not done any Blogging for a couple of weeks…..but I am back now! Oh and I have so so much to tell you about…
First up though – the challenge this week at Just Add Ink = Just Add Pearls.
A couple of weeks ago I was working on putting some class idea’s together and my sister Nadine shared a technique with me that I had not done before – so that became the basis for my Just Add Pearls Card.
The new technique is in the background of this card – where I used some wax paper that I embossed with the Big Shot and then laid it between 2 layers of glossy card – then ironed it. After that I rubbed it with ink – and this is the effect I got. I really liked it and found the more ink I added – the better it looked.
Also – really loved these colours together too – Wisteria Wonder, Rose Red, Always Artichoke.

A word of warning to all those wanting to try this technique!! MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR IRON PROPERLY – WITH PROTECTION FOR SURROUNDING SURFACES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah – you guessed right – I had a moment…….not sure if it was a Blonde moment, Senior moment or plain old stupidity moment………but you guessed it……. I ironed on the carpet and wrecked both the carpet and my iron (not that I use it much – hee hee).
However – I then had to own up and tell Mr Neil that I had done it! And it’s not even in a spot I can hide with a mat – darn it!! Lucky for me he kinda laughed…….. although I was not laughing.
Anyway………………I can not finish this post without giving a big Whoop whoop for where I was last week!! Whoo hoooo Stampin Up Convention in Canberra – with about 450 other crazy SU lovers.
Man I had an awesome time – for many reasons – The Stamping (of course), the sneek peeks, the projects, the swaps – but mainly the people. Geez I love my Stampin Friends. Here are a few highlights.
