Archive for February, 2010
The theme of Sue’s Monthly Calendar Challenge for February is Love and Romance – being that it’s the month of LOVE with Valentines and stuff.
Here is the page I put together for it.
I’ve always loved this little pic of Sarah – fast asleep on her Daddy’s shoulder at about 4 days old. She was so little and so cute. Well I think so.
For this 6×6 page I used the Sweet Nothing’s Simply Scrapping Kit which is full of lovely embellishments. The colours are beautiful and very romantic too.
At the end of last year my Secret Sister Susan sent me a parcel filled with beautiful hand made gifts. They are just gorgeous and filled with even more treats too. I really really loved them.
I showed them to the ladies that come to my classes. We ohhhh’d and arhhhh’d over them together. They agreed they were beautiful. We decided that we had to make the Picnic Basket in a class.
Last Wednesday we did our version of the Picnic Basket.
The template came from Papertrey Ink by Lauren Meader.
We used Chocolate Chip as a base and decorated with So Saffron and Baja Breeze DSP.
Just Add Dimension is the Challenge this week over at Just Add Ink…..and I’ve already given you a little sneek peek at my project – so now here’s the whole thing……..
I made a notice board. I’ve actually thinking about getting one for a while. Because when I make things – sometimes I like to put them in front of me for a few days to decide if I like them or not. So I thought it would be handy to have one. So when the Just Add Ink challenge was Just Add Dimension I decided it was time to make my own notice board.
I’m very happy with how it came out and it’s starting to be covered in projects for me to mull over and think about. It was great fun and might be a Class project soon. Here’s a pic of it without projects on it.
There are some amazing projects being put together over at Just Add Ink – so go check them out here.
Well I thought I would give you a little sneak peek of my next Just Add Ink Design Team Entry – mainly because I’m wrapped with how it turned out – but also because I think it is going to be a super duper challenge that you will ALL want to participate in…..so here goes.
Sorry – I can’t tell you anything more about the Challenge – so come back on Friday to find out more. Cheers Chantell
When I saw these colours I got the matching card out and started to play around. For some reason – even though there is a ROSE RED in there – I thought I’d have a go at a Male’s card. So this is what I came up with.
I’d got the Star Punch a little while ago and only used it a few times and because it goes so well with the Classic Stars Wheel that was where I started. I covered some Brads with little dots of paper and wrapped the Linen thread around the back ground. Then staying with my Rock N Roll theme (that I did in Class this week) I stamped the sentiment.
The Just Add Ink Design Team have put together some amazing projects with this Colour combo – so go and have a look (http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/) and then have a go yourself. It’s loads of fun!!
This weeks class was all about Rock n Roll. Nah – we were not dancing around the room – we were rockin and rollin our stamps around the ink pads. It’s a great little technique – and quite easy to do. Just remember – go for the lightest colour first and clean the stamp in between inking.
The first card we did was my version of a card I had seen done by Chris Parker-Barnes. When I saw the card Chris had done I liked it so much it inspired me. Here’s the card we did.
Colourwise – it was quite an unusual colour palet…but I really like how it came out. Colours are: Close to Cocoa, Tempting turquoise & Cameo Coral.
Next up we did a Valentines Card & Box. Now to be honest – I don’t really do Valentines but the ladies that come to my classes had requested we do a Valentines Card – so I made it a box & mini card.
Yes – there is only ONE sweetie left in that box. There were more….but we ate them!
And then – there were none!!
The next Just Add Ink Challenge is up and running. It is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch.
Here is the card I did…..
I was really wrapped with how it came out. I decided to have another go at watercolouring – and I really loved the colours.
So go over the Just Add Ink – have a look at the other projects that the girls have done – and have a go at the Sketch Challenge too.
