Archive for August, 2009
Some of you may have seen on my blog recently that I joined in on a Cyberstamp with other SU Demonstrators. (see post CyberStamp Weekend July 28th).
I really really enjoyed having a go at some of the Challenges and only wish I had of had more time to do all of them. However – it really was a fun weekend and I can’t wait for the next one.
Anyway – I was so lucky to have been picked as a winner for one of the CyberStamp Challenges. This is the Card that I had submitted.
I was sent a lovely card and box of goodies as a prize. Exciting! This is what I got.
Thank you very much Tanya. Receiving this gift really made my day.
The 2009 Spring Mini was launched on 1st August- so my first class for August involved using products from the New Mini Catalogue.
The first Card we worked on used the Great Friend Stamp Set – which I am really really loving. I have used for so many wonderful projects so watch this space and I will show you some more of them soon.
Here I’ve used Old Olive and Riding Hood Red with the Bella Rose DSP. See how I have tied a bit of Linen Thread around the Butter Fly to create antennas – that little trick I learnt from Janice Klass who is a very skilled Scrapbooker and Card maker – and a lovely lovely girl too. Hi Janny 🙂
For our Second card we used the Just Beachy Stamp Set. I had quite a few ideas for this set but decided I’d show the ladies how to make a Gel card.
Everyone had a great time putting this card together. I think they were quite please with themselves too. It was loads of fun.
At the beginning of the month I attended our Team Day. What a great afternoon we had. It was great to catch up with everyone as well as meet new team members too.
Some of us participated in a Swap … the Theme of the Swap was Spring Mini as the Spring Mini was launched on 1st August. I recieved some lovely swaps….here are some of them.
This is the Swap card that I came up with. My sister Nadine showed me how to make these cards.
It’s a hidden message card – so when you spin the circle bit round you can find the hidden message…..like this.
We also worked on some great projects. Here are the ladies hard at work and Chatter!
Jenny & Alison (above) are working on the Box project that was provided by Jaz. It’s and awesome little box made with only one sheet of card. Here’s a close up.
This stunning page was put together for us by Janice. It’s so lovely – I will have to find a good pic for mine.
And we also did this card using the Polished Stone technique.
So as you can tell….we had a very busy and creative day. Loads of fun.
I’ve recently met a group of ladies that asked me to do an extra Stamp-a-Stack – so I borrowed an idea from my good friend Alison.
Funny thing is – I’d also borrowed the Stamp Set from her too for this Stamp-a-Stack. Thank you very much Ali.
The Stamp Set is Pun Fun and has some great Characters and sayings. The background is the See You Around Wheel which is quite versatile and creates a great background. We used the Crimper to add a bit of dimension to this project.
The theme of the July Monthly Swap with Kim was “Trendy Trees”. We are both enjoying using this Stamp Set – there are so many things you can do with it.
This is what we came up with.
Kim not only used Trendy Trees here – but also the Funky Forest Wheel. I really love how Kim has done the corners on this card with the Photo Corner Punch and Brads.
One of the features on this card is the Paper Piecing – it must have taken Kim hours!
Here is one of the cards I did for the swap. I used a layout that I had seen at Convention in Canberra – and the stamping part of it I had seen on another card. So I combined the two to make this. Was very happy with the result.
Kim also sent me a suprise item too….. it’s so cool.
But the best bit – it round the back there’s a curly little tail!!
I participated in a Father’s Day Swap recently with other SU Demonstrators from around Australia. There were some fantastic cards sent in. These are the cards I received.

This is the Card that I did for the Swap.
I’d like to say Thank you to Jenny for lending me her Occasional Greetings Stamp Set for these cards.
Oohhhh – I have so many posts to catch up on….but hopefully I’ll get a few done over the next week or so.
So first up is a class we did at the end of last month – Xmas in July.
The first card we did used just a few colours – Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue & Whisper White – with a bit of Glitter & Ribbon too. This card could be done in any colour. We used the So Swirly Wheel and Season of Joy Stamp Set.
Next up we used A Holly Jolly Christmas – which is a really fun set. We used a more traditional colour set and the Holiday Treasures DSP.
