Stampin Up! Convention 2009

Canberra was the location for the Stampin’ Up! convention this year.  And that is where I have been for the past few days.

What a blast!

There must have been at least 400 – 500 Demonstrators from all around Australia & New Zealand all together sharing what we love.  There were so many Highlights I’m not really sure where to begin.

We were all given a Beautiful Convention Bag with Pens, Pins and Paperwork inside.

We all made a selection of Cards that we swapped with each other.  This is not only a great way to add to your own card samples but also is a lovely way to meet or introduce yourself to the other Demo’s present.

These are the Swaps I put together.

Here they all are spread out on the kitchen table before I went to Canberra

The following days were filled with wonderfully inspiring workshops – there were a range of topics all of which were designed with encouragement and creativity in mind.  There were so many ideas, card designs and techniques to take in.  Great things to sink your teeth into.  So watch this space for my interpretation of it all over the next few months.

Stampin’ Up’s Co-founder Shelli Gardner was also there.  Along with many of the US & Aussie Home Office Staff.  I really loved rubbing shoulders with Shelli as you can see in this pic.  Shelli is such a beautiful and gracious lady.  And funny too!

I was also happy to meet a lady that has been my Secret Sister for the past few months – Sue Joyce.  Sue only lives about 2 hours away from me but having sent her Happy mail for the pas few months it was great to finally meet her.

The Conference was topped off with a lovely Dinner and Awards night.  This is where NZ & Aussie Demos are recognized for their massive achievements in the SU world.  I just am blowen away by what these ladies do and achieve.  I really enjoyed meeting and talking to them too.  Here’s a pic of my Upline Sarah receiving one of her Awards.

So…I’m not sure if you can tell or not – but probably the over-rinding thing I got out of the Convention was the Friendships and Connections I made with other Demos across Australia & New Zealand.  It was just fabulous.  I’m already looking forward to the next one which is an entire year away.

  1. Hi Chantell,

Love the photo of yourself and Shelli. Note the similar hair cuts, amazing! We should have had a photo together, I think we were to busy chating. Like your swaps.
